Last night seemed the perfect time to take a look at my list of intentions, the desires I have for my future. I like to keep everything in that written list fresh and current. Reason being I tend to design potentially powerful affirmations concerning those situations I want to create in my life. Naturally those affirmations need to be kept up to date and as lively as possible.

Funny thing, as I went down that list I discovered my priorities had changed. Those all-important number one items had slipped to number five or were completely out! I shouldn’t have been surprised. I am not the same woman I was a few months ago or perhaps even a few weeks ago.

We all change as we go through life learning, getting a slap or two and hopefully awakening to our Spirit focus with more clarity. It only makes sense that those desires we embraced yesterday or last week or last year as our all-important goals lose their luster. Thankfully over time as our goals change they have a tendency to become more inspiration driven than ego demanded. Yes, we begin to access our inner silence where all power resides and start listening with our hearts.

Perhaps it would be helpful if I explained what caused me so much introspection yesterday. For some reason I felt compelled to spend some time sorting through my clothes closet. It seemed over full. I tried on this, that and the other dress and suit becoming more and more dissatisfied. Finally I hit on the reason for rejecting nearly all the “going out” clothes.

Why? It was not that the hot weather of Tucson demanded different attire. It was not that any of those items were worn out or even unfashionable. No, the reason was that the clothing I had saved and preserved so carefully just was not “me” anymore. They physically fit just fine. The problem was they no longer spiritually fit. I changed. The outfits had not. They represented the old me not the new and improved version.

My first thought was to send all of the “stuff”, no matter how presentably clean and neat, to the thrift store. I probably should have done just that but I am a little too conservative. However, I immediately gathered up three of the most unsuitable and took them to the nearby store. They will all go there eventually, probably one or two pieces at a time as I feel able to let go of the past “me” they represent.

Change is sometimes daunting even when it involves a few pieces of clothing. I am grateful to be able to understand what I was feeling yesterday. Simply understanding gives me a path to move forward with surer, clearer, more obvious and apparent steps. I love my life. I love my work. And I want to be completely able to accept and embrace all the changes as they come.

I hope all your changes and adjustments are easy ones. But, if they are not, be grateful for the newness they bring to your life and smile anyway! It really helps.

Yes, quitting is easy, so simple to succumb to the depressing hopelessly negative energies that seem to surround us today and just give up. All too easy to let go, embracing defeat, when we see financial institutions failing, countries torn apart by war and devastating weather phenomenon striking over and over again.

But why should we let any of this drive us down? What we need to acknowledge and fully embrace is this fact: through all of this we continue to be individually capable of designing the success of our own lives. Do not give up! The truth remains we are not now and never have been at the mercy of any of the bad news.

How can we be successful as well as happy when we are faced with all of the negatives? The answer is simple. Our paths always are controlled and shaped by our own personal thoughts, beliefs and emotions. By changing our attitudes and feelings we change our experiences of the world and our lives.

It remains true that nothing, no circumstance, no person, can have control over us unless we allow it, unless we unquestioningly accept beliefs other than our own. Certainly we can accept things as they appear on the surface or we can deny their reality in our lives. We absolutely are capable of moving forward with our own most positive intentions.

Undeniably at this time in earth’s history, we may find it necessary to rethink much of what we have depended upon, much of our usual support system. It might be that we would find it important to create a new career, change our usual way of creating financial freedom. Perhaps one or more of us might see the need to change geographic location for comfort or even safety.

A wise astrologer friend of mine told me a long time ago (no matter the situation, or the challenge) “You are never stuck!” Not stuck in a relationship, not stuck in a location, not stuck in an occupation. Fortunately I believed my friend. As a result I am a lot more flexible than I was only a few years ago.

My hope for all of you is that you find yourself more adaptable and more incredibly flexible than ever before. I intend for you that you keep strongly moving through life’s changes with purposeful understanding and an open heart. You are the master of your destiny. Your life is incredibly important.

Allow as many opportunities in your life as you can think, dream or imagine. The possibilities are truly endless!

What is worry? Nothing at all but the entertaining of unfounded fear. Perhaps we fear that the current seemingly negative situation is much more threatening to us than it actually is or that it is becoming worse. Or we believe our imagination which continually hammers at us telling us that something awful that has not happened, will happen. In any case through worry we allow our fear to control us.

When fear is left on its own, not dealt with, it grows larger and begins to spread. What originally was about one possible problem suddenly becomes numerous possible problems. The emotion of worry continually feeds itself and manifests in unexpected, unpleasant ways as our life experience.

If we acknowledge that emotion of any kind is a powerful creative fuel, it makes sense that we would want to feed our emotions with more positive thoughts and words.

Instead of continual worry expressed through our ideas, our spoken words or even worse in our written letters, we might begin making a difference in our emotional lives by being alert to the influence of worry and then erasing it when it occurs. So what should we do, what action should we take, when worry raises its ugly head?

There is nothing like physical exercise to bring in fresh energy and ideas. Go for a walk, head for the gym. It is difficult if not impossible to worry while you’re breathing hard from a workout. Another sure fire cure and a way to change your focus is to do something for somebody else. You can always find someone who needs a cheerful word or a helping hand.

Take time in the morning to write a comprehensive list of all the things and people you are thankful for. Don’t forget to include the fact that your earth life offers you an ongoing opportunity for soul growth. If worry still creeps in you also can escort it out of your way by sending peaceful, confidence filled thoughts to your own heart and mind.

When we make a firm decision to truly love and appreciate ourselves for our efforts (regardless of all our apparent foibles and occasional confusion) our self confidence will allow us to make our way through all kinds of intruding worries and challenges with personal esteem intact.

Thoughts, emotions, words, written ideas are all energy-carrying powerful creators. The test, before you send any energy into the world, is to consider what it is capable of manifesting in your world. Is the result what you want? Will you create more problems or more solutions with the ideas you are presenting?

It is tempting to tell friends, relatives, perhaps even strangers about your problems. The fact is no one really enjoys listening to your fears or difficulties. The result of amplifying your fearful challenges is not a pleasant nor happy anticipation for others.

On a personal note there are many mornings when I need to tell myself with enthusiasm that I am “young, strong and healthy. My body knows it and my body shows it!” Why would I feed myself those thoughts?  Simply because there are times when I would rather stay in bed and wallow! Occasionally I also might throw in something like “I have plenty of energy to share and to spare!”

Remember that your words, thoughts and feelings can be self-fulfilling prophecy! Be aware of your prophecies! May all your manifestations bring you overflowing Joy!

HOW NEW WILL YOUR NEW YEAR BE?

As we prepare to birth yet another new year, our thoughts may be on the year now past. Perhaps we feel many things could have been better. We see loss in various human arenas…finance, institutions, relationships, and more. We may have regrets over some of our personal actions or inactions, those things we did or failed to do.  We may feel abused, even victimized, by the actions of others.

We need to ask ourselves if we want a rehash of 2010 or if we are willing to make the effort to create situations and events in and around us that are truly new. If we want our personal new year to be different than this past year, we must begin to think, act and feel differently about ourselves and our experiences.

At this special time of new beginnings I offer some ideas to bring you confidence that 2011 will be completely and pleasingly new! First, forget the so called “failures” of the twelve months past. Those losses along with the days that produced them are over. Whip out a sheet of paper and begin to write everything you ever did that was a “win”.

Call your list RIGHT ACTIONS. Documenting your “wins” as a list will be the first step toward your intended new journey. It will imbue you with the knowledge and deep seated belief that you are a successful Spirit filled human.

On your “Right Actions” list write every successful, generous, loving thing you have ever done. For instance, “providing extra food for others to brighten their holidays made me feel good,” Or “I decided to finish the college course which led to my being accepted as a …” Or perhaps, “buying that first little house set me on a good road to identifying winning investments.” Or, “I made a special effort to make my mother comfortable in our final weeks together.”

Whatever you did at any time that brought you a good feeling about yourself, your motives and your abilities write it on your list! The act of writing anything gives it special enlivening energy.

The reason for this exercise is not to encourage living in the past but rather to take you back there long enough to remember those special positive power filled times of yesterday. By reacquainting yourself with your successes of the past you are simply reminding yourself that the power you used then is the power you can elect to use now and in the future.

What name do you give your power? What channel are you tuned to? What is your motivator? Do you think of it as the energy of intuition, Spirit, God, I Am that I Am, High Self, Light or Love? Whatever name you give to it that power is forever yours to use in any way you can think, dream or imagine.

By making the “Right Actions” list you will begin to remember many successful ventures for which you may not have given yourself credit. The point of creating the list is for you to visualize and magnify a winning, successful image of you. When you see yourself as a creative winner you will access even more wonderful productive ideas. You will have more success with anything you do.

Did you know that your powerful subconscious will always carry out your orders? Every repetitious thought and emotion you feed to it will be saved, worked with and brought to manifestation. It is a 24-hour-a-day worker. It never becomes tired and it never grows old.

Even more than manifesting your power filled ideas, your subconscious keeps a bank of pure “information” that you did not empower. Ask it for some solutions and ideas and it will do the research. Or ask its associate your personal dream maker for answers. You have truly unlimited resources waiting your call.

When you access your own “feel good” emotion you have accessed your personally powerful fuel and igniter fluid for constructive manifestation. You can focus that energy to build the life you have dreamed of. You have always known what you desire and now you have the way to ignite those desires.

By your concentration on your personal successes you are throwing out all your preconceived limits. When you throw out limiting ideas and concepts you are free to engage fully with your personal light filled future.

It is no secret that most of us can tell you what didn’t work in our lives or what isn’t working. Why fritter away our dynamic energy resources on such a wasteful pastime? Let us speak instead of how much we love today and invest our energy here. Let us speak of the bright future that stretches out in front of us. Make our words work for us rather than against us.

Creating a new “new year” for ourselves does not happen by chance. It takes a desire on the part of each one of us to let go of the actions and ideas that did not work and focus on the ones that did!

A particularly good idea at this time of year is to clean house in any way you can. In other words, if you have not used a particular item in the last 12 months, get rid of it. Give it away to someone who could use it. Recycle it! If you are falling over unused possessions and storing some under your bed it is time to make some decisions about where you are using your energy. Everything you own literally owns you.

The other part of house cleaning is a little different. When a particular personal habit is a stumbling block, it not only has to be removed but it has to be replaced! It is good to remember that anytime you create a vacuum by removing an idea or emotion, you need to replace it with something more positive. Otherwise that hole that is left in your life experience will be filled with the “first available”, in other words, the luck of the draw.

Keep adding to your right actions success list whenever you remember one of your personal winning accomplishments.  Adding to your list will build your confidence. It will impress upon you that you are worthwhile and capable of great deeds. Each one of you has special talents and enormous creativity. Believing in yourself will reveal more of your abilities.

Through this list making exercise you will find other new and sometimes startling inventive ideas floating to the surface. Do not ignore your new ideas. Keep a second list of POSSIBILITIES.

Allow the ideas to approach you exactly as they are without placing immediate judgment on them. In other words, just because a particular idea seems beyond your abilities at the moment, too much like “pie in the sky” write it down anyway. Remember that tomorrow everything can change. What seems impossible today may be exactly the action that will work for you next week.

Do not throw away any of your inspired thoughts. WHEN IN DOUBT…WRITE IT DOWN!

Be aware that some of your best most workable ideas may come to you in dreamtime. Write them down the very minute you wake. Even if you cannot understand the metaphor or unusual language of a dream, write it down. Do not let any of these special inspirations escape into forgetfulness.

Pay attention to your colorful daydreams as well. Daydreams can carry wonderful inspirations that are worthy of your notice. Daydreaming is a way of trying out ideas and seeing the probable results. Let no idea wither for lack of your investigation.

The importance of written lists is that we are able to see things in a more concrete form. When ideas are standing side by side on paper we can evaluate much more directly. Clarity of thought is more likely.

Make this new year of yours shine with the ultimate in newness. Make it your best new year yet.

I would like to repeat an excerpt from an e-mail I received from the “Intenders” group:

“You are called, now, to give birth to a new way of life for yourself and for all those who walk this world with you. You stand poised at the threshold of great expansion in your perceptions, your possibilities, and your consciousness.

Now is not the time to settle for less or to think small. You are here to rise up and out of the prevailing paradigm of beliefs by shining your light and sharing your joy.

May all who seek comfort enjoy it. May all who want abundance experience it. May all who intend peace create it. May all who give love receive it. And may all who shine light live in it.”

My love and blessings to all of you for a magnificent new year, Reverend Lois Cheney.

In my work as a counselor I have found that anyone over the age of 18 is quite likely to be carrying some amount or degree of regret; regret for what he or she did do or what he or she did not do. Occasionally that regret takes the form of all too heavy guilt. But be it regret or guilt it is still just another version of fear. We fear that because we were not “perfect” in some past action, we are always in danger of repeating some aspect of our own imperfection.

What if your judgment is flawed? What if you cannot access the right information? What if your timing is off? What if you already missed all the best opportunities and they are over and gone? Believe me when I say the “what if’s” are endless. Let’s turn them around. What if you are right? What if the best time is now?  What if all the energy in the world is ready to support your decision? What if the universe has been waiting for you to act and you do take action? What if your idea is perfect? WHAT IF YOU WIN?

Although you may not be consciously aware of it, if you are personally suffering with any of that emotional/mental heaviness called fear, it may have come from your acceptance of what others have told you was “wrong” or “bad”. Those ideas may have been pushed on you years ago from friends, spouses, parents, employers or others but the origin is not important. What is important is your reaction to that useless injurious acquired guilt, your decision to carry it on forever or to drop it and let it go. Each of us must take charge of our beliefs and those accompanying attitudes.

Whether we call it regret, guilt or fear it definitely has the effect of “dampening down” the Spirit. It causes one to live way too much in past hurtful events. When we live in past unhappiness we create present time unhappiness. In the extreme example, through our heavy thoughts and feelings, we recreate the past by manifesting similarly depressing situations in our future. Certainly not the reality we would wish to lay on ourselves and to experience yet one more time.

If we spend time over analyzing, reevaluating and in essence amplifying our past failures or mistakes, it leaves us with no time, impetus or desire for moving ahead. What is urgently needed is our own permission to start from where we are and begin again creating our most positive heartfelt desires.

If we look honestly at what we want from our lives it becomes obvious that we need to impress upon ourselves, upon our thoughts, our feelings, that not only are new beginnings possible and available, those new beginnings are standing in the wings waiting for us to acknowledge them. All the possibilities are there eagerly anticipating some sign from us that we are willing to take personal action on our own behalf to move ourselves forward.

There are a lot of avenues or ways in which we become fearful, stuck or lost. When a close loved one or friend leaves us through death or simply moves away, it can leave us with a damaged sense of self. Perhaps we feel somehow we caused the leaving, we were guilty of not doing this or that for their sake. Again we may feel we used inappropriate action or words. Whether or not we were overly dependent on the other person, nevertheless their leaving seems to leave a temporary hole in our lives.

It is natural to experience a period of grieving over any loss but after a reasonable time it is important then to move ahead with life. There comes a time when we must again see the love and beauty around us and within us. We need to acknowledge the wonder of our lives. We simply do not have the right to let the life God gave us to wither away unused and unfulfilled. We need to once again access our life path with the help of our heart and soul inspired dreams.

Sometimes a similar period of fear and grieving may assail us when for a reason or reasons that may be altogether unexpected and possibly quite unclear we lose our employment or other valuable financial assets. We worry we cannot even try something new. We feel the loss was caused by something we did wrong. The thought of having to forge ahead to a new more joyful way of living and earning leaves us feeling weak or incapable. What we should acknowledge is the possibility that with this apparent loss there is the arrival of a good chance, a genuine opportunity to try a new path. There is every reason to believe that better things lay ahead of any loss if we will agree to become positive explorers looking to the Light.

Whatever you may have heard, whatever you may have been told, you are neither too old nor too young to start again. And no, you are not too tall, too short, too fat, too thin or too inexperienced.

So you say you did not go to this college or that school? Where is your passion; in other words, what subject draws you in and will not let you go? What do you wish to learn? Find the teacher. Find the course. TEACH YOUR SELF!  You have full ability to take action today. Whatever your goal one little step a day will bring you there. Just start.

You don’t have the money? You don’t have the social standing? You need better clothes? You don’t have the right friends? You feel you are all alone. No one to help you. We can all find excuses. Let’s decide not to. Instead let’s take action.  Talk to your guides. Talk to your angels. Talk to your high self. All of your helpers are your loving allies. They simply stand by, waiting for your call.

Begin with what you have. Begin right where you are. You are valuable. Don’t waste yourself and your time. Keep your efforts going till you accomplish your goals. There is always more than one way up the hill. If you sincerely want to find your road and are willing to begin by putting your energy into the hunt, you will find it. You will keep on keeping on till you find yourself at the top.

Select a personal journal and begin today writing in it. Fill it full of your optimistic ideas, your positive faith-filled dreams. Even if they seem impossible or improbable, write them down anyway. What looks impossible today may very well be the perfect idea tomorrow.

This is your private book. In privacy read your ideas out loud to yourself again and again. Adjust them as you feel led until you are certain they are whole. You may have that perfect idea or desire that is capable of drawing in all manner of assistance perhaps even entrepreneurial help and financing if that is what is needed. You may have an idea that will change your whole life or change the world.

Suppose your dream has always been to travel. Get a scrapbook started with all kinds of routes and pictures. Cut out itineraries. Put energy into your choices. I remember reading of the success of a single lady who wore a colorful dress printed with pictures from various foreign countries. She wore her “creation dress” at every opportunity. Somehow her programmed trips just seemed to find her.

If you are looking for a new life partner, what sort of person would fit with your personality and lifestyle? Don’t be afraid to put the details down in writing in your journal. Get down to the specifics and then decide if you might need to make some adjustments to yourself. Perhaps taking part in some more outgoing social events might be in order. It is hard to meet people if you are hiding out at home. Maybe your smile has been under utilized lately. You can fix that!

Whatever you wish to create try to see it as a whole picture, the completed manifestation. Imprint it on your mind. Really feel the feelings it would give you. How would the satisfying results affect you? What results would you see? Then start believing you have those results right now. You and your imagination have limitless power. Create your new beginning in any form and in any way you wish! Not even the sky is the limit.

I know that nothing in this world is “incurable”. I know that everything in this world can be changed for the better! Through faith-filled intention all situations can be adjusted and moved into their highest and best outcomes.

I have read the book the Master Key System quite a number of times. In fact I have even listened to it on CD’s. Isn’t it funny how you believe you have absorbed everything contained in a particular writing and then one day something apparently “new” grabs you attention?

In his book the Master Key System, originally published in 1912, author Charles Haanel offers this affirmation: “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy.”  I cannot say how many times I have read or heard his words before, but this particular time it seemed to be so much more important for all of us.

You have to understand that in his own words at the age of 13 he was “a twisted, cripple going about on my hands and knees.” He credits the change from that pitiful state to a strong healthy man with his continual use and belief in that one affirmation.

He said it all day long. He said it before sleeping, upon waking and in the middle of the night. One step at a time he simply convinced himself of the words until he was completely well. “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy.”

Not all of us are suffering from some life threatening physical disability. However, if you really hear and feel those words you will understand the many positive results that are possible through their use. “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy.”

When you are truly WHOLE you are using not just your intellect but your wonderful emotional yardstick to guide and direct your physical actions and direction. You are listening to your emotions and their intuitive guidance to tell you what is good for you and what is not.

In fact when you are WHOLE, you have fully integrated your spirit within your physical body. You are operating as your spirit and your soul but using your healthy physical body as your vehicle.

Are you “PERFECT”? Of course you are! You were born with all the right talents, the perfect attributes, to learn, dream, design and manifest your personal contributions to this earth. How much more perfect could you be?

Are you STRONG? Absolutely! You have at your disposal all the magnificent energy and strength of the cosmos. How much more strength could you possibly use? Call out for what you need and it is there. You have incredible strength for your use day and night. Part of that strength reveals itself as your faith filled belief in your own abilities.

POWERFUL? Certainly, for through right use of your thoughts and emotions you can make sweeping changes in your experience. You are a power filled manifestor, a marvelous creator! Not only do you have the ability to heal yourself but you can help others to access their own healing. That is astounding miracle working power.

LOVING? You were formed from love. It is your true nature. You have the use of love’s thoughtful and giving nature each day. Give more of it to yourself. Give it to others and you will find it coming back to you in even greater amounts. You are born to express your love, acknowledge it, offer it as your transforming gift to the earth and all her people.

HARMONIOUS? Your harmony pours forth as you allow and accept your world as it is now. It may not be easy but when you are able to access your ability to allow others to be as they are with all their pluses and minuses, you have created harmony.

Accept others and yourself with all your positives and negatives. Each one of you has at your core the spark of the Divine. Thank goodness that those sometimes startling opposites compose the personality and many times reveal one’s true life purpose.

Are you HAPPY? I certainly hope that you are not only happy but joyous. You have bushel basketfuls of possibilities that offer themselves to you every single day. Nothing is beyond your reach or imagination. Embrace choice! It is there for you.

Your ability to create your own idea of perfection should make you jump with joy and anticipation. What a wonderful opportunity to stretch your abilities and talents, expressing yourself to the maximum.

Charles Haanel suggests you not only use this strong affirmation for yourself but send it in energy to anyone who might benefit from it. I say be generous with it and your love.

It seems to me that just repeating that affirmation makes you more aware of the beauty and flow in your own life experience. As you put your faith in yourself and your abilities you begin to see the promise in all life.

Somehow the flowers smell sweeter, the birds are more musical and you sense the possibilities in all your brothers and sisters. It is a wonderful life.

I encourage you to live it to the fullest. Why? Because YOU ARE WHOLE, PERFECT, STRONG, POWERFUL, LOVING, HARMONIOUS AND HAPPY!

There is just one word I would add to all of those positive words: GENEROUS. Always be generous with yourself and others. Be generous with your light filled positive words and thoughts, your kindness, your time and your love. Life is simply too short not to be.

If you are willing to analyze what is happening in and to your mental, emotional and physical bodies at this time, you may well be surprised. Will you find vibrant health in all those areas? What ideas and feelings reside there? Sense those areas of you. Are they comfortable?

How is your overall temperament? Yes, you will most likely find embedded memories of past good times but many of you also hold tightly to memories of past events that hurt you emotionally, perhaps even caused you physical or mental pain. You also may hold those memories, consciously or unconsciously, in one or all of your bodies in ways that are not so easy to see or recognize.

Where do we hide and hold these unhappy memories? What effects do they have? A negative memory stored in mind can cause ongoing reactions to those situations which we judge to be the same as before but are not!

Through holding such a memory we create drama where there needs to be none. In other words, we play out an old out dated scenario engaging in needless and hurtful repetition. It is a destructive life template that cries out to be replaced with something more positive.

What is it that triggers a particularly strong emotional response in us? Often I believe it is nothing more than an apparent similarity to unpleasantness from the past. Because it gives the appearance of being the same, we “boil over” just as we did before. In other words we pour forth emotion in anticipation of something that may or may not be true, may or may not happen. The event is not at all as we see it. We jump to a quick and possibly erroneous judgment.

Unfortunately every time we “warehouse” an unhappy past trauma we tend to give it more strength and ongoing life. Worst of all we store it in our physical body. From that storing of the event, we experience literal pain. If that trauma is mentally and emotionally fed over and over, it eventually manifests not only as physical discomfort, aches and pains, but as some sort of more serious disease.

Doesn’t the creation of those uncomfortable effects present reason enough to look carefully at what we refuse to forgive and let go, regardless of whether the incident is caused by ourselves or others?

If we are brave enough to look honestly at our automatic, moment to moment, reactions, we can make seemingly miraculous changes in our daily life experience! If we can catch ourselves in mid “knee-jerk outburst” and decide to stop and rethink, we will be faced with limitless POSITIVE POSSIBILITIES.

We can literally rewrite our own mental and emotional guidelines, changing those sometimes hidden ingrained pathways. We can access our own ability to allow and accept life’s surprises without regret or condemnation! By changing ourselves, changing our attitudes, we change our experiences. We begin to attract what we truly desire instead of settling for painful repetition and unhappiness.

Of course, ideally we would let go of any pain filled incident the moment it happened. Usually we do not. In fact many times we “rehearse” it, review it, endlessly.

So what can each of us do to extricate harmful energies that reside in any of our bodies, emotional, mental or physical? The good news is it appears there are endless numbers of possible therapies designed for just that purpose.

You might consider deep tissue massage, healing or hands-on touch, sound and color therapy to clear and align your chakras, crystal layouts, hypnosis, guided meditation, past life regression, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), cranial sacral work, Tai Chi, intuitive counseling and so many more diverse possibilities.

Your personality and any challenges you may face would be the determining factor in the method you choose. Certainly there are benefits to each of them but one or perhaps two will be more to your personal liking.

A true “clearing”, of your bodies, letting go of refuse or garbage and any miss-qualified energies, requires your intention and focus. It calls forth your most determined efforts as well as the desire to keep with the process. It is not an “overnight” job but one that holds the promise of enormous life-path benefits. It can be done!

I am always happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding my work with clients. If I can be of help to you with your personal life questions or offer you healing work, I will schedule a mutually convenient appointment time. I provide a recording of each session for your later review.

Did you know that your powerful subconscious will always carry out your orders? Every repetitious thought and emotion you feed to it will be saved, worked with and brought to manifestation. It is a 24-hour-a-day worker. It never becomes tired and it never grows old.

Even more than manifesting your power filled ideas, your subconscious keeps a bank of information that you did not impower.

Keep adding to your success list whenever you remember one of your personal winning actions.

Allow the ideas to approach you as they are without placing immediate judgment on them.

It was just two weeks ago this coming Sunday through an unexpected invitation I found myself teaching one of my favorite workshops on the east coast of Florida. That workshop that I offer from time to time is my introduction to extra sensory development, just a taste of the way or path to psychic development.

As usual I brought boxes of “tools” with me that I use to keep the focus of attendees. I set up my easel and flip chart. All was going according to plan as we worked our way through the exercises both mental and physical. I spoke of my own early and sometimes laughable experiences with spirits and apparitions.

Then something unusual happened. I flipped to the next illustration on the chart. It was a simple outline of a heart. In the center of the heart in rose colored crayon was the word JOY. One woman jumped up from her chair and said “I like that!

I do love effusive people. Her energy was a real boost to most everyone. Hers was certainly a positive exclamation but not the end of the reactions to the drawing of the heart and “Joy” from the rest of the class.

No one else commented aloud regarding the particular drawing but it was the varied energies the others were emitting that surprised me. There were a few nods of agreement and then…

With some of the students there seemed to be a distrust of the word itself as if it contained some sort of threat perhaps could not be accepted or counted on to be positive. One of the participants actually recoiled as if in fear. Is it possible that someone could be afraid of going beyond being surface happy, of accessing joy in depth? If that were so what could be the reason?

To figure out this puzzle I began considering where joy comes from, where it originates. Certainly joy is more than mere pleasure. It has a depth beyond pleasure. The deep upwelling emotion of joy resonates throughout the body and mind. I dare          say true joy is a soul promoted emotion.

Perhaps it comes and goes quickly or only occasionally as we move through our lives. But to truly live joy each day every day one would have to have a deep sense of gratitude not only for his own life but for every person and situation in his life.

How could that thankfulness or gratitude be brought forward? Can we create it at will?

It is certain that life is full of changes and surprises, some pleasant, some not so pleasant. Could it be that you and I are capable of making a conscious decision to be thankful for all our varied situations, people and events? Could we suspend ego-led judgment long enough to be thankful for all our experiences whether filled with tears or laughter? And if we stuck by that mental decision to be grateful in all things could we perhaps invite more joy into our hearts and lives?

At that point in my analyzing I began to realize that Joy and Unconditional Love were inseparable. They are two halves of one thing. If Joy were accessed one would have to be at least at that moment in a state of loving and accepting everything and everyone just as they are. That state of being in unconditional love and acceptance might be all too brief but it would seem that it naturally coexists at the moment when Joy is flooding the heart.

To go a step further is it possible then that the only healing tool we would ever need is found in being unconditionally loving and accepting of ourselves and others? Could love filled joy be the one medicine that would take away any of our distress or disease?

That idea brought me right back to the person in my class that appeared to be literally afraid of Joy. Now I know from experience that some people will cling to their illnesses because that particular disease or condition is providing some sort of benefit in their lives.

The discomfort may be giving them the attention they crave from another person. Holding on to that distress may be their reason for not attempting some task that they do not want to pursue. Whatever the reason for not accepting their own healing, they continuing to hold on to that ailment because it provides what they, on some level of consciousness, believe is necessary in their lives.

Following that reasoning, if Joy were to be a part of their daily living, the disease that has been their rock, their saving grace, their focal point might be taken away. Loosing that kind of stability, however questionable the logic, would certainly be reason enough to fear the dynamic healing arrival of Joy coupled with the unconditional love of self and others.

There is of course another possibility. Perhaps the real fear is that the beautiful flooding of Joy into and from the heart is all too temporary. Perhaps the fear is that when that Joy is not present or seems inaccessible the emotions and stability will go into free fall.

From time to time we all suffer through the ups and downs of emotion but we do not live in fear of a total downward spiral just because life does not conform to our idea of perfect. Most of us have learned the real benefits of keep our “sunny side up”. Good thoughts, good emotions, bring good results.

My response to the thought that Joy is too temporary is to suggest that each of us begin at once to carve a reliable path to Joy. I suggest we find a way to access or create Joy in our lives. For instance, we all need the feeling and knowledge that our lives are supported by Spirit. Because that is true let us begin to reassure ourselves daily that we are made of the divine Light and Love of Spirit. Reinforce our own worthiness throughout the day.

Cause yourself to become aware, to feel that Light and Love lifting you, guiding you from one moment to the next. Remind yourself daily that you are Light, you are Love. Do this and thankfulness, love and all pervasive Joy will become your way of life.

The original question I asked myself was “Is Joy your birthright?” I can now say I believe that it is but like any gift or talent or ability Joy has to be accepted, appreciated and above all used. Joy is that state of expanding love and acceptance. Accessing the Joy that is naturally yours will change your life and the lives of all those whom you touch.

My personal joy is found in helping others to fully actuate their lives. My pleasure comes from seeing my clients successfully pursue the life path of their design. If I can help you with any life questions or directions call or e-mail me, Reverend Lois Cheney for your private clairvoyant reading.

You and I are living in a time of sweeping changes. At times here on earth the economy, world governments, everything and everyone seems to be in flux. On a more personal level many of us have been aghast as we watched our finances tank. Some of us watched our relationships crash and burn. A few of us felt helpless as our physical health begin teetering on the brink.

There is good news however. You do not need to identify yourself by your current but passing experiences.

You do not need to call yourself “broke” because you are temporarily without the funds you would like to have.

You do not have to feel “loveless” or “deserted” just because one or two friends or even a spouse walked away.

You do not need to label yourself “sick” because your body is hurting here or there. Why make it worse by announcing to everyone you meet that you are feeling bad?

What you need to do is quite the opposite. With as much enthusiasm as you can muster you need to begin seeing yourself as a wonderful positive creator and manifestor of each of your now moments and your future destiny.

You know that you are made of Light. You are made of Love. You can do or be anything you choose.

You need to begin seeing yourself with all the abundance you could ever need or want. Know that you have more than enough money to spare and to share. Affirm that you are rich. Declare that each one of your financial desires or needs is instantly met.

Furthermore, today you must acknowledge that you are not only loved but loving. The very earth embraces you. Be grateful and appreciate the wonder of love that you are. Daily with gratitude and thankfulness you need to send that love forward to others from the depths of your being. That love you send out will rush back to you magnified a thousand times.

Believe that every nerve and cell in the body is continually healthy and regenerating because in truth it is. Appreciate the gift of overflowing health. Be grateful for it. Send that appreciation and gratefulness to each and every one of your physical organs. Send loving thankfulness to your heart, your lungs, your skin. They are alive. They will hear and respond with increased health.

Possessing your own personal human body is a wonderful gift from Spirit. Why? Because if you will really look at your human body and the life you are leading with that body you can see the results of your emotional and mental handiwork. You will have visual proof of what you believe, what you think about and what you feel.

This body of yours, this life you are experiencing, is your canvas. You paint on it day by day, hour by hour. You make it drab or colorful. You make it happy or sad. It is your lessons, your workbook and your test.

There is no need for you to mirror the past. Whether the past is five minutes past or fifteen years past, let it go. Manifest what you have always dreamed of now, today. Your soul is standing by ready to help.

Habitual thoughts, habitual emotions, habitual attitudes and habitual actions can be your finest friends or your most terrifying and destructive enemies. If any habit of yours is bringing unhappiness and grief into your life experience change that habit today.

When you become aware of a dark and gloomy daydream making its home in your mind do this: say to that thought “THIS IS NOT MY STORY!” Say it again. “THIS IS NOT MY STORY!” Push that thought form away from you.

Of course, you realize that anytime you create an empty spot, a mental vacuum, you must fill it. So go directly to the beautiful happy picture you want. Play your wonderful heartfelt dream over and over until there is no room for the gloom. Play it with sound, color, fragrance any additives you can think or imagine but make it real.

In all aspects you have the power to be brand new today. For instance, we know for certain that each day many of the cells of your body are replaced, made new. Why not allow those new cells to be truly new instead of mere replications of yesterday?

You have the power to change your experience and your body by replacing any habitual negative thinking with positive, growth filled thinking!

If you feel it would help, try falling back on what has worked for you before: the affirmations, the prayers, any positive literature. Begin to wipe your slate clean of any miss qualified energies. Then fill those newly empty spaces with the thoughts and feelings of your soul’s heartfelt desires.

Let the negative mental pathways go. See and feel with positive intent only. In other words, begin to carve new mental and emotional roadways to your personal success.

You have the power and you are in charge. Decide to open your energy receptors to the most enlightened thinking you can create. Throw away any self limits. You do not need limitations of any kind. Tell yourself that you are open to all good things.

What others think or believe about you need not affect you in the slightest. BE AWARE THAT THOSE ENERGIES THAT WILL ALWAYS AFFECT YOU ARE YOUR OWN. The seeds you plant moment to moment are shaping your life. Fear, gratitude, love, resistance all of these are seeds, emotional and mental seeds that will grow and become visible manifestations in your life.

If there is any appearance in your life that you do not like decide to change the attitude, thought or feeling that brought it to you. Truly look at what you are sending out on a daily basis. You are your words and thoughts. Replace your beliefs and you will replace the effects.

A few days ago I read about Meagan Bilodeau. Meagan is an 8 year old girl who put a message in a bottle while her family was enjoying a vacation on a cruise ship near Bermuda. She wrote a note including her phone number asking whoever found the bottle to “please, please, please” let her know. Doesn’t that sound like an 8 year old?

Her father told her to toss the bottle over the side of the cruise ship into the Atlantic Ocean. He believed that her message would probably drift on the currents to Europe and hopefully be found there.

That was not what happened. Meagan was delighted when she received a phone call from another little girl, 10 years old, who found the bottle only 15 miles from Meagan’s home in Falmouth Massachusetts. In other words instead of following the natural ocean currents the bottle with her note seemingly followed the strong energy of Meagan’s “please, please, please” desire.

There is a great deal of TRUTH hiding in that result. Everything we do, everything we say, think or feel always “follows us home.” For that reason alone it pays each of us to be aware of what we are giving to the current of life.

The energy each of us emits tends to grow or amplify and return in a strong recognizable form. Where the results of our lives are concerned there simply are no secret thoughts or hidden agendas.

The good news is that we each contain the ability to change. We can redirect the most negative and ingrained energy to new more positive paths. Nothing is incurable. Every so called personal flaw can be brought to the Light.

You have at your disposal today all the energy you will ever need to create the life you were born to express and enjoy. You have no limits! Take charge of your thinking and your emotions. You have the right and the ability to bring about your own idea of perfection whatever it may be and—WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE, YOU ARE RIGHT!
