If you are willing to analyze what is happening in and to your mental, emotional and physical bodies at this time, you may well be surprised. Will you find vibrant health in all those areas? What ideas and feelings reside there? Sense those areas of you. Are they comfortable?

How is your overall temperament? Yes, you will most likely find embedded memories of past good times but many of you also hold tightly to memories of past events that hurt you emotionally, perhaps even caused you physical or mental pain. You also may hold those memories, consciously or unconsciously, in one or all of your bodies in ways that are not so easy to see or recognize.

Where do we hide and hold these unhappy memories? What effects do they have? A negative memory stored in mind can cause ongoing reactions to those situations which we judge to be the same as before but are not!

Through holding such a memory we create drama where there needs to be none. In other words, we play out an old out dated scenario engaging in needless and hurtful repetition. It is a destructive life template that cries out to be replaced with something more positive.

What is it that triggers a particularly strong emotional response in us? Often I believe it is nothing more than an apparent similarity to unpleasantness from the past. Because it gives the appearance of being the same, we “boil over” just as we did before. In other words we pour forth emotion in anticipation of something that may or may not be true, may or may not happen. The event is not at all as we see it. We jump to a quick and possibly erroneous judgment.

Unfortunately every time we “warehouse” an unhappy past trauma we tend to give it more strength and ongoing life. Worst of all we store it in our physical body. From that storing of the event, we experience literal pain. If that trauma is mentally and emotionally fed over and over, it eventually manifests not only as physical discomfort, aches and pains, but as some sort of more serious disease.

Doesn’t the creation of those uncomfortable effects present reason enough to look carefully at what we refuse to forgive and let go, regardless of whether the incident is caused by ourselves or others?

If we are brave enough to look honestly at our automatic, moment to moment, reactions, we can make seemingly miraculous changes in our daily life experience! If we can catch ourselves in mid “knee-jerk outburst” and decide to stop and rethink, we will be faced with limitless POSITIVE POSSIBILITIES.

We can literally rewrite our own mental and emotional guidelines, changing those sometimes hidden ingrained pathways. We can access our own ability to allow and accept life’s surprises without regret or condemnation! By changing ourselves, changing our attitudes, we change our experiences. We begin to attract what we truly desire instead of settling for painful repetition and unhappiness.

Of course, ideally we would let go of any pain filled incident the moment it happened. Usually we do not. In fact many times we “rehearse” it, review it, endlessly.

So what can each of us do to extricate harmful energies that reside in any of our bodies, emotional, mental or physical? The good news is it appears there are endless numbers of possible therapies designed for just that purpose.

You might consider deep tissue massage, healing or hands-on touch, sound and color therapy to clear and align your chakras, crystal layouts, hypnosis, guided meditation, past life regression, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), cranial sacral work, Tai Chi, intuitive counseling and so many more diverse possibilities.

Your personality and any challenges you may face would be the determining factor in the method you choose. Certainly there are benefits to each of them but one or perhaps two will be more to your personal liking.

A true “clearing”, of your bodies, letting go of refuse or garbage and any miss-qualified energies, requires your intention and focus. It calls forth your most determined efforts as well as the desire to keep with the process. It is not an “overnight” job but one that holds the promise of enormous life-path benefits. It can be done!

I am always happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding my work with clients. If I can be of help to you with your personal life questions or offer you healing work, I will schedule a mutually convenient appointment time. I provide a recording of each session for your later review.

You are powerful. You have the right and the power to be completely in charge of your own life. You have all the options. You and only you have the right to decide what emotions you will feel, what thoughts you will think. YOU ARE THE DETERMINING ENERGY FOR YOUR LIFE.

Let’s talk about habits for a minute. Habits can be very helpful. For instance you don’t bother to think where the light switch is in the bathroom because you have turned it on hundreds of times. You can find a spoon for your coffee almost without looking. Perhaps you wake in the morning without an alarm clock. Well worn habit pathways make life easier but I am sure you know not all habits are beneficial.

Returning to our topic of emotions and thoughts: If I asked how you regulate your emotional barometer, how diligently you are controlling your emotions, you might tell me for instance “My emotions just happen.” “I have no control over my automatic emotions.” “I can’t change them.”

Ah, but perhaps your emotions “just happen” because of the well worn habit pathways you have created. Perhaps they “just happen” because long ago, albeit unconsciously, you decided which way to react to certain similar situations and that reaction pathway became habit.

On the matter of thoughts, I grant you that many times they simply seem to fly unbidden in and out of our heads. Nonetheless, you can decide which ones you will allow to live in your mind, which ones you will house. You have the power to send away those ideas and images that are not for your best good.

Let me say this: you can decide today, this very minute, to keep or abandon any old emotional reaction as well as any old thought. If the patterns you made long ago do not please you today, erase them, discard them. You can decide to begin right now to feel and think in an entirely different way, forge a new path. You are a virtual master of those positive changes if you wish to be.

Yet, many of us continue to give away our power to others. We react to seemingly negative comments or actions of a friend, spouse, or family member. Perhaps we bring our temper to bear either silently or aloud on the actions and words of an unhappy clerk in the store. We keep mentally rehearsing a hurtful incident minutes perhaps hours long past.

How do I know this? I have caught myself more than once mentally piling up what I considered to be wrong actions taken, wrong words spoken, by my daughter. Fortunately when my personal outward emotional explosion happened the other day, the result of an incident which for me was “one last straw,” my daughter was at work and not physically present.

In order to encounter a “last straw” you have to be collecting a lot of straws! I am working on myself to let go of things when they happen or even as they are happening rather than putting them in an emotionally charged shoebox for later use.

When you or I react negatively to another person’s ideas and actions we hurt ourselves! Even worse than just the effect of a heavy emotional reaction on the very cells of our physical body and mind is the fact that through experiencing and giving space in our hearts to that emotion, we GIVE AWAY OUR ENERGY to the offending situation or person. Is that what we really want to do?

Over and over again we amplify the very thing we do not want to see manifest in our lives. How foolish is that? We use our ability to create the exact opposite of our heartfelt desires.

Living your personal truth is challenge enough without giving attention to every other word, thought, advice or direction that is offered to you. It is not bad to be sensitive to what is happening around you. Go ahead, be aware. You can listen. You can listen to everything. Just monitor your reactions carefully. What are you storing in your body and mind?

There are people who will tell you it is “flu season”. “Everybody is getting it.” Decide if you wish to accept that belief. Someone may say to you that because your whole family has a history of this or that malady, you most certainly will succumb. Is that what you want? “They” may tell you that because of current financial situations your new business has to fail. Do you want to quit before you start? Be selective in those ideas that you internalize because positive or negative they will manifest.

It is always good to pick up helpful ideas from others; however, it is most assuredly detrimental to your life progress to accept every seemingly offensive word or action that on the surface appears to be aimed at you. Take only that advice which resonates with your innermost guide. Let the rest go. Let that which is not for your best good float away on the breeze.

No matter how much effort you make, how wonderful your social skills, how loving you are, not everybody is going to like you. Not everybody is going to applaud your way of doing things…not your family, not your friends, not your lover. The most important skill you can learn is to allow criticism to slide right off of you. Knowing who you are, what your goals are, and taking some action every day to achieve those goals, that is what is important.

Recognizing that every individual who is present today has different lessons, different life direction is a big boost to finding your personal tolerance, your ability to honestly smile and allow. As long as you are not receiving any physical harm simply allow others to think and do as they would. It certainly is not up to you or me to decide what is right or wrong for another’s life.

This attitude of allowing and accepting would seem to be the most difficult for us in the case of friends and family. For whatever reason we all seem to be particularly talented in recognizing the faults of others. My advice? Send the Light and Love to all, see the Light and Love, be the Light and Love. It is always appropriate. In many cases it is the best you can do. Whether it is accepted or not, it is always absolutely correct.

Know that other folk’s “mistakes” maybe exactly what they need to learn and grow. Don’t take away their lessons. It is not for their best good. Offer advice only when seriously asked. Many times that apparent call for help is not for you to fix anything but rather is really only a call for you to be a good listener.

You and I have chosen to live in this world of opposites. Yes, it was our decision. I believe our most valuable learning comes from observing the interplay of the positive and negative. If we will rise to our personal challenges, if we dare to be that which our innermost self would have us be, we will have lived the best of lives. Live from your heart and soul. Spirit’s wisdom will knock on your door every day sometimes in pleasing attire and sometimes in rags.

I believe in differences. I believe in your personal uniqueness. I encourage you to explore all your gifts, all your talents. Throw away any inhibitions or fears that you have collected along the way. I know each one of you is unique in all this earth. You are special, valuable and important. Claim your personal power. This is your chance for the best life ever. Use it to the fullest. TAKE CHARGE OF YOU!

Today I am giving you a very special gift. I am printing for you the personal permission slip you were given when you entered this lifetime. It says: “In this moment and now and forever you are granted the unending right to be and express that very special, unique, unusual individual you were born to be.” Now I must ask you: Are you willing to use that right?

Just as no two snowflakes are alike, you are not like any other person on this earth or possibly any other life form in the cosmos. It is your own individuality that is your gift. You are special and important. I applaud all your differences.

Somewhere deep inside you lives a power filled urging to carve your own path, to pull away from whatever anyone else thinks you should or ought to do. Your soul pushes you to express your uniqueness, to take chances by acting on your wildest ideas.

Oh, yes, you may have goals and objectives that are similar to the ideas of others, but your way of accomplishment will never be the same. Your methods will not be identical to those of anyone else. You were born to shine in your own way. None of you are clones.

Why is this so important? Because by acknowledging your unique desires and abilities you are shedding the inhibiting guidelines you have absorbed or inherited from family, friends or coworkers. This letting go of past instructions will allow you to finally fully actuate the life that your soul intended from your birth. By projecting the truth of who you are into your life, you may lose a friend or two but I promise you will attract others who see and appreciate the light and love that you are.

Going along with mass thought, following the majority or the crowd will not make you happy. It is not only O.K. to use the road less traveled, the belief system less used, it is necessary. Each of you must carve your own path by following the urging of your heart. When you feel joy pour over you like a warm shower you are pursuing exactly what you need to do regardless of anyone else’s opinion or reaction.

Because you are individual, one of a kind, there is no single plan, no one way for gaining those experiences and that education for which you came to earth, for which you incarnated to be here at this particular time in the planet’s evolution. “One size” does not now and never will “fit all”.

Do you have day dreams or night visions that tug at your heart, dreams that beg you to follow them? Do not let them get away for lack of your attention. Write down your desires. Maybe you feel they are impossible or impractical but do not let them get away.

If your dreams are important enough to stir your soul, imagination and emotion, they are important enough to keep. Those dreams can be Spirit’s way of giving you directions, allowing you to attain resonance with your soul. What does not work today may well work tomorrow. Just acknowledging the desires of your heart can magnetize your personal energy to draw others to help you. Writing those heartfelt desires in a journal brings them energy and life.

As a psychic, I offer Dream Work as well as Intuitive

Development classes from time to time. I design all of those classes to be as much fun and games as possible simply because people seem to learn much faster in that kind of format. Why study dreams? Why push toward intuitive development? Because if you become more aware of the inner essence or truth of what is happening within you and around you, you can make more life affirming choices.

I believe too many of us go through life holding back our words and thoughts for fear of offending someone with our beliefs or saying something too “far out.” Much to my daughter’s embarrassment, I have a habit of striking up a conversation about anything most anywhere. One night when we were entertaining I asked our guests “Have any of you ever seen a U.F.O.?” I could almost feel my daughter sink into the carpet. But that question started a very lively and interesting conversation.

Let me tell you about my trip to Walmart the other day. This story has nothing to do with guides, angels and masters or even the meaning of life but here it is anyway. I had just walked in the back door of Walmart when I noticed this little curly haired older lady with an empty shopping cart. She was leaning just a bit on a small cane. Without meaning to I began to laugh so hard I nearly turned inside out.

Naturally she turned to look at me. I touched her lightly on one shoulder and said “I just can’t help it. I got the funniest idea in my mind that I was going to grab your cart and run down the aisle with you chasing me. I would never do such a thing and I can’t imagine why I even thought it! I must be tired to get so silly.” By that time we were both laughing till people began to stare. She said, “Worse than that, I wouldn’t have been able to catch you!”

I like to think that both of us felt a little lighter after all that fun. I smile every time I think about it. We tend to take everything in life so seriously that once in a while we just need a little comic relief.

To some degree all of us are the product of those “rights and wrongs” we learned in childhood. Our parents with their beliefs and understanding did the best they could to guide us but as adults we need to look carefully at those early rules and judgments that may no longer serve us. We need to acknowledge something as basic as it is alright to talk to strangers.

In still another realm of influence we may be tempted to “fall in line” with our friends or co-workers ideas of what is right for us when what we really need is to learn to listen to our soul’s directions.

To illustrate our tendency to do the so called right or expected thing, let me tell you about my cat Festus. I had just moved with my adopted alley cat, Festus, to a new home in Austin, Texas. I was worried that he would become disoriented in the neighborhood so I bought a little harness and attached him with a chain on the patio under the shade of the roof. I intended to keep him tied for maybe three days until he could understand that this was his new home.

All went well for a couple of days. I kept him fed, watered and shaded. Then on day number three I came out to pet him and there was no Festus, just a harness and a chain. I immediately started searching the neighborhood and spotted him a few blocks down the street. When I called to him he ran the opposite direction. I thought that was the end of that.

However, when I got back to the house there he was, sitting right beside his harness and chain pretending he was still attached. How smart are animals? I have to wonder though if his behavior wasn’t akin to something we do. We break away from some of the old learned behaviors that no longer fit and then, out of comfort or familiarity, we go right back.

Perhaps unconsciously, we feel the need to conform to the patterns that our family or friends have created for us. Most folks have a tendency to resist change. Those people we are close to may be more content with their perceptions of us if we are willing to be predictable. They may be happier if what they have decided to be true about us remains static. In many cases, they prefer it if we will stay in the little identity box they have created for us.

Is it any wonder that we tend to have communication challenges with our relationships when we understand things so differently? Working with your own intuition, sharpening your inner awareness can be a communication tool and blessing. Strengthened intuition absolutely will improve your understanding of others in your life, but equally important, it will help you to understand your own actions and motivations.

I am reminded of one of the Carlos Castaneda books. In it his mentor and teacher, Don Juan, tells Carlos, “You must lose your personal history.” Carlos says he can’t do that. He has earned this degree, he has had this experience. But Don Juan insists, telling him he has to be who he is today, this minute.

I believe that is what each of us must do. Yes, our past has brought us to this day, our current level of understanding, but we cannot live from or in the past. We need to be the new “this minute” us, this “now” us with all our new ideas, understanding and concepts.  It is definitely o.k. to be different! It is right that you and only you should select your current path and ideas.

Embrace change. Welcome it in your life. It is only through change that you can move forward. Look at your own life from a different point of view. Ask yourself questions! Who or what is center stage in your life today? Is there reciprocity in this situation or are you bleeding away all your energy. Does this activity or relationship fill you with joy or emptiness?

Sometimes that which was on center stage in your life needs to be loved from a distance or moved to the curb!

Each of you has a soul that is always prompting you to move forward, to accomplish. It urges you from your heart to be as much as you can be, to use your special gifts and talents.

Listen to that warm, urging heart emotion. If you are able to perceive that heart and soul wisdom with greater understanding and give it your full attention, you will find the way to access a more fulfilling joy and flow in your life.

How can you know if you are on your LIFE PATH? I have the question so many times in my work as a counselor. Fortunately, you have been given the measuring stick or tool to use for just such a question. When the path your are on, the work you are doing is so much a part of you that minutes and hours spent in that endeavor mean nothing, you have found it. When you never bother to look at a clock because you are doing what you love, you are on your path. When your heart sings and your spirit soars, you have found IT!

Being your authentic self, finding your way to your special destination may not happen in an instant. No matter how long it takes, your dedication to the journey will be an inspiration to others. Each step along the way is a learning experience.

Develop the gifts and the talents that you have. Work with those occupations or goals that draw you in and will not let you go. No one person can decide for you what your life is about. Not your closest friend, not your parents, not your spouse can ever know the intimate details of what makes you special.

Be proud of your individuality and make the best use of it. You are important to this earth and all of her inhabitants. No one can make the contribution you came here to make. Believe in yourself and step forward with confidence.

I am always ready to help you with any of your life challenges and questions. Call today for your private counseling appointment. I welcome you to my Sarasota, Florida studio or to a telephone session. In either case I will give you a cassette tape of your reading for your later review. Be sure to ask about chakra clearings with sound, color and crystals and private intuitive development lessons.

Those of us who daily feel the reality of our innate spiritual nature most likely are also yearning to fulfill the destiny we chose before we arrived in physical body. Our soul continually seems to push us to discover our unique way of moving through this life. It urges us to develop our special talents to their fullest dimension and share those abilities and our selfless love with the world.

Of all the questions that are asked of me as a psychic counselor some of the most frequent are; “Am I on my spiritual path?” “Is the action I am pursuing keeping me on my life path or am I taking a wrong turn?” “What is my life path?”

If you are a person who desires to “stay on the path” I offer you some ways of determining your course. The first is certainly the easiest and most direct. As you move through your day check in with your emotions. Are you working at something that gives you so much joy that you completely ignore the clock? Time is meaningless? Then most definitely you are on your path fulfilling your purpose.

If on the other hand, you are bored, feeling stuck or lacking any drive or ambition, it is time to take a little personal inventory. When was the last time you felt the joyful exhilaration of something you accomplished? What was the nature of that effort? Could it be built, expanded into some larger and greater work?

Reach as far back in time as you need to but do find something that gave you great satisfaction and purpose. Looking for a situation of your own creation that brought you joyful excitement will open your thinking to which of your many talents needs to be explored and utilized.

If there is some particular activity that has always spoken to you, made you curious, but you were hesitant to try it, do it now. Did you always want to try painting with watercolors? Did you feel you could be helpful in one of the many volunteer opportunities?  Does guitar music call you?

When you daydream what do you see yourself doing? Should you begin taking steps to make that daydream a reality? No matter your age, no matter your education, it is never too late to try something “out of your comfort zone” that sparks your imagination.

I do not exaggerate when I state that everyone reading this article has numerous talents! Not one of you arrived empty handed.

There is a related effort that you can make to bring your life path into focus. It may not make sense to you at first but I suggest you try it.

The truth is that more than one of us are hitting a bit of a brick wall life path wise because we will not forgive and let go. In other words you may still be angry with yourself for missing an opportunity that you feel would have put you in a much more progressive place in your life. You may still resent someone else who caused you distress or economic loss.

When you hold on to a situation of any unhappy distressful kind it places clouds in your thinking. That attitude will hold you back, keep you from seeing and trying your finest ideas. Worse yet lack of forgiveness can manifest itself as physical or even emotional illness.

Let go of memories of any personal “failure”. Anything you ever did or saw was simply a learning experience. Release unhappiness and move into this possibility filled day with renewed zest. Every single day is a new 24 hour opportunity! Do not waste a minute of that gift in regret.

When you are angry with your own actions you hurt yourself. When you are angry with someone else you hurt yourself.

If you feel that you have failed yourself in anyway, forgive! If you feel that someone else has injured you, forgive! You will be amazed at how light and good that forgiveness will feel.

As you seek your personal and very important life path remember that your emotions are a wonderful sensing device. When joy floods your soul, you are on target! When your solar plexus feels like it is filled with lead, do try something different!

Many of us on earth today are experiencing what feels like an acceleration of time. We just become accustomed to one event or appearance when everything changes again. Therefore it is all the more important to be center and grounded in our own lives.

When you can affirm and sense that you are doing what you came here to do, you are centered, you are grounded!

My intention is that you find and enjoy all the blessings of your life. My joy is found in helping others with their life challenges. I am Reverend Lois Cheney, telephone (941) 961-2783, E-Mail: RevLois@gmail.com. , www.Sarasota-Psychic-medium.com.

At this time I am thrilled to announce the implementation of a powerful new addition to my Spirit-channeled healing work. I am pleased to offer this therapy to you.

With this treatment the doorway to healing of mind, body and emotions is opened through chakra cleansing and increased activation of each chakra. Both sound vibration and color immersion are used in this therapy.

The chakras are reenergized and entrained with each other. In other words the energy of each chakra is amplified and harmonized with the energies of the other chakras to flow and connect smoothly for the highest good of the overall health and wellbeing of the client.

This technique has the effect of engaging the individual’s natural healing abilities. Many times, during the process of clearing, certain blockages will arise and reveal their mental or emotional causes. At that time the difficulties can be addressed and intuitively analyzed in conjunction with the overall treatment. The typical session requires a one hour appointment and is strictly private.

Many of my clients report feeling lighter and yet very connected with their world following their treatment. Still others seem to regain their sense of balance or grounding. Always there is a feeling of deep relaxation combined with increased inner awareness.

Some report accessing more confidence in their own ability to follow their heart/soul direction. The overall effect many times is a powerful magnified personal aura which allows the individual greater access to his personal intuitive abilities.

As we prepare to birth the new year, our thoughts may be on the year now past. Perhaps we feel many things could have been better. We see loss in various human arenas…finance, institutions, relationships, and more. We may have regrets over some of our personal actions or inactions, those things we did or failed to do.  We may feel abused, even victimized, by the actions of others.

We need to ask ourselves if we want a rehash of 2009 or if we are willing to make the effort to create situations and events in and around us that are truly new. If we want our new year to be different than this past year, we must begin to think, act and feel differently about ourselves and our experiences.

At this special time of new beginnings I offer some ideas to bring you confidence that the new year will be completely and pleasingly new! First, forget the so called “failures” of the twelve months past. Those losses along with the days that produced them are over. Whip out a sheet of paper and begin to write everything you ever did that was a “win”.

Call your list RIGHT ACTIONS. Documenting your “wins” as a list will be the first step toward your intended new journey. It will imbue you with the knowledge and deep seated belief that you are a successful Spirit filled human.

On your “Right Actions” list write every successful, generous, loving thing you have ever done. For instance, “providing extra food for others to brighten their holidays made me feel good,” Or “I decided to finish the college course which led to my being accepted as a …” Or perhaps, “buying that first little house set me on a good road to identifying winning investments.” Or, “I made a special effort to make my mother comfortable in our final weeks together.”

Whatever you did at any time that brought you a good feeling about yourself, your motives and your abilities write it on your list! The act of writing anything gives it special enlivening energy.

The reason for this exercise is not to encourage living in the past but rather to take you back there long enough to remember those special positive power filled times of yesterday. By reacquainting yourself with your successes of the past you are simply reminding yourself that the power you used then is the power you can elect to use now and in the future.

What name do you give your power? What channel are you tuned to? Do you think of it as the energy of intuition, Spirit, God, I Am that I Am, high self, Light or Love? Whatever name you give to it that power is yours to use in any way you can think, dream or imagine.

By making the “Right Actions” list you will begin to remember many successful ventures for which you may not have given yourself credit. The point of creating the list is for you to visualize and magnify a winning, successful image of you. When you see yourself as a creative winner you will engage more wonderful productive ideas. You will have more success with anything you do.

Did you know that your powerful subconscious will always carry out your orders? Every repetitious thought and emotion you feed to it will be saved, worked with and brought to manifestation. It is a 24-hour-a-day worker. It never becomes tired and it never grows old.

Even more than manifesting your power filled ideas, your subconscious keeps a bank of information that you did not impower. Ask it for some solutions and ideas and it will do the research. Or ask its associate your personal dream maker for answers. You have truly unlimited resources waiting your call.

When you access your own “feel good” emotion you have accessed your personally powerful fuel and igniter fluid for constructive manifestation. You can focus that energy to build the life you have dreamed of. You have always known what you desire and now you have the way to ignite those desires.

By your concentration on your personal successes you are throwing out all your preconceived limits. When you throw out limiting ideas and concepts you are free to engage fully with your personal light filled future.

It is no secret that most of us can tell you what didn’t work in our lives or what isn’t working. Why fritter away our dynamic energy resources on such a wasteful pastime? Let us speak instead of how much we love today and invest our energy here. Let us speak of the bright future that stretches out in front of us. Make our words work for us rather than against us.

Creating a new “new year” for ourselves does not happen by chance. It takes a desire on the part of each one of us to let go of the actions and ideas that did not work and focus on the ones that did!

A particularly good idea at this time of year is to clean house in any way you can. In other words, if you have not used a particular item in the last 12 months, get rid of it. Give it away to someone who could use it. Recycle it! If you are falling over unused possessions and storing some under your bed it is time to make some decisions about where you are using your energy.

The other part of house cleaning is a little different. When a particular personal habit is a stumbling block, it not only has to be removed but it has to be replaced! It is good to remember that anytime you create a vacuum by removing an idea or emotion, you need to replace it with something more positive. Otherwise that hole that is left in your life experience will be filled with the “first available”, in other words, the luck of the draw.

Keep adding to your success list whenever you remember one of your personal winning actions.  Adding to your list will build your confidence. It will impress upon you that you are worthwhile and capable of great deeds. Each one of you has special talents and enormous creativity. Believing in yourself will reveal more of your abilities.

Through this list making exercise you will find other new and sometimes startling inventive ideas floating to the surface. Do not ignore your new ideas. Keep a second list of POSSIBILITIES.

Allow the ideas to approach you as they are without placing immediate judgment on them. In other words, just because a particular idea seems beyond your abilities at the moment, too much like “pie in the sky” write it down anyway. Remember that tomorrow everything can change. What seems impossible today may be exactly the action that will work for you next week.

Do not throw away any of your inspired thoughts. WHEN IN DOUBT…WRITE IT DOWN!

Be aware that some of your best most workable ideas may come to you in dreamtime. Write them down the very minute you wake. Even if you cannot understand the metaphor or unusual language of a dream, write it down. Do not let any of these special inspirations escape into forgetfulness.

Pay attention to your colorful daydreams as well. Daydreams can carry wonderful inspirations that are worthy of your notice. Daydreaming is a way of trying out ideas and seeing the probable results. Let no idea wither for lack of your investigation.

The importance of written lists is that we are able to see things in a more concrete form. When ideas are standing side by side on paper we can evaluate much more directly. Clarity of thought is more likely.

Make this new year of yours shine with the ultimate in newness. Make it your best new year yet.

It was just two weeks ago this coming Sunday through an unexpected invitation I found myself teaching one of my favorite workshops on the east coast of Florida. That workshop that I offer from time to time is my introduction to extra sensory development, just a taste of the way or path to psychic development.

As usual I brought boxes of “tools” with me that I use to keep the focus of attendees. I set up my easel and flip chart. All was going according to plan as we worked our way through the exercises both mental and physical. I spoke of my own early and sometimes laughable experiences with spirits and apparitions.

Then something unusual happened. I flipped to the next illustration on the chart. It was a simple outline of a heart. In the center of the heart in rose colored crayon was the word JOY. One woman jumped up from her chair and said “I like that!

I do love effusive people. Her energy was a real boost to most everyone. Hers was certainly a positive exclamation but not the end of the reactions to the drawing of the heart and “Joy” from the rest of the class.

No one else commented aloud regarding the particular drawing but it was the varied energies the others were emitting that surprised me. There were a few nods of agreement and then…

With some of the students there seemed to be a distrust of the word itself as if it contained some sort of threat perhaps could not be accepted or counted on to be positive. One of the participants actually recoiled as if in fear. Is it possible that someone could be afraid of going beyond being surface happy, of accessing joy in depth? If that were so what could be the reason?

To figure out this puzzle I began considering where joy comes from, where it originates. Certainly joy is more than mere pleasure. It has a depth beyond pleasure. The deep upwelling emotion of joy resonates throughout the body and mind. I dare          say true joy is a soul promoted emotion.

Perhaps it comes and goes quickly or only occasionally as we move through our lives. But to truly live joy each day every day one would have to have a deep sense of gratitude not only for his own life but for every person and situation in his life.

How could that thankfulness or gratitude be brought forward? Can we create it at will?

It is certain that life is full of changes and surprises, some pleasant, some not so pleasant. Could it be that you and I are capable of making a conscious decision to be thankful for all our varied situations, people and events? Could we suspend ego-led judgment long enough to be thankful for all our experiences whether filled with tears or laughter? And if we stuck by that mental decision to be grateful in all things could we perhaps invite more joy into our hearts and lives?

At that point in my analyzing I began to realize that Joy and Unconditional Love were inseparable. They are two halves of one thing. If Joy were accessed one would have to be at least at that moment in a state of loving and accepting everything and everyone just as they are. That state of being in unconditional love and acceptance might be all too brief but it would seem that it naturally coexists at the moment when Joy is flooding the heart.

To go a step further is it possible then that the only healing tool we would ever need is found in being unconditionally loving and accepting of ourselves and others? Could love filled joy be the one medicine that would take away any of our distress or disease?

That idea brought me right back to the person in my class that appeared to be literally afraid of Joy. Now I know from experience that some people will cling to their illnesses because that particular disease or condition is providing some sort of benefit in their lives.

The discomfort may be giving them the attention they crave from another person. Holding on to that distress may be their reason for not attempting some task that they do not want to pursue. Whatever the reason for not accepting their own healing, they continuing to hold on to that ailment because it provides what they, on some level of consciousness, believe is necessary in their lives.

Following that reasoning, if Joy were to be a part of their daily living, the disease that has been their rock, their saving grace, their focal point might be taken away. Loosing that kind of stability, however questionable the logic, would certainly be reason enough to fear the dynamic healing arrival of Joy coupled with the unconditional love of self and others.

There is of course another possibility. Perhaps the real fear is that the beautiful flooding of Joy into and from the heart is all too temporary. Perhaps the fear is that when that Joy is not present or seems inaccessible the emotions and stability will go into free fall.

From time to time we all suffer through the ups and downs of emotion but we do not live in fear of a total downward spiral just because life does not conform to our idea of perfect. Most of us have learned the real benefits of keep our “sunny side up”. Good thoughts, good emotions, bring good results.

My response to the thought that Joy is too temporary is to suggest that each of us begin at once to carve a reliable path to Joy. I suggest we find a way to access or create Joy in our lives. For instance, we all need the feeling and knowledge that our lives are supported by Spirit. Because that is true let us begin to reassure ourselves daily that we are made of the divine Light and Love of Spirit. Reinforce our own worthiness throughout the day.

Cause yourself to become aware, to feel that Light and Love lifting you, guiding you from one moment to the next. Remind yourself daily that you are Light, you are Love. Do this and thankfulness, love and all pervasive Joy will become your way of life.

The original question I asked myself was “Is Joy your birthright?” I can now say I believe that it is but like any gift or talent or ability Joy has to be accepted, appreciated and above all used. Joy is that state of expanding love and acceptance. Accessing the Joy that is naturally yours will change your life and the lives of all those whom you touch.

My personal joy is found in helping others to fully actuate their lives. My pleasure comes from seeing my clients successfully pursue the life path of their design. If I can help you with any life questions or directions call or e-mail me, Reverend Lois Cheney for your private clairvoyant reading.

Yes, every ‘little’ activity you engage in, every ‘little’ thing you do you have the power to expand with energy and intent to serve ‘double duty’.

Suppose it is time for exercise. For your body’s sake you go outdoors for a walk or jog. Instead of plugging your ears with your earphones to listen to your personal music mix, try hearing all the various sounds and seeing all the diverse sights of nature.

Immerse yourself in the life essence of birds, trees and flowers. Hear the crickets; see the dew on the leaves. Do you sense a misty aura of life around all things? Bring yourself to focus on the now moment. Mother Earth gladly sends you healing of mind, body and spirit if you care to absorb it.

Being at peace in nature can allow you to access your highest creativity. New ideas and better ways of living begin to flow in with ease. Inspiration is everywhere. As action is called for it takes on a new grace and purpose.

Do you prepare meals for yourself or friends? In the midst of all that chopping, cooking and arranging where are your thoughts? Are you adding special life enhancing energies to the food and the kitchen? If not, why not?

You have access to all the energy you could ever need. Use that ability of yours to channel energy into the most positive vibrations for yourself and others. The rewards may very well surprise you.

A simple thing like taking a morning or evening shower or tub bath can be much more than physical cleaning. Bless the water. Put your mind on the power of the water. See it refreshing your total energy.

Think of the water as removing all miss-qualified energies of your own or those unwanted attachments that you might have accumulated. Know that as that water leaves you, winding its way down the drain and making its way back to the earth, it will be recycled and refreshed.

I recall a dear friend of mine, a Unity Minister in Illinois, used this principle of ‘double duty’ very well! It was back in the days when as housewives we actually ironed husbands’ shirts. I think now everything is wash and wear.

Anyhow, when my friend Dona would iron her husband’s shirts (a job she really did not like) she would see his back, shoulders and arms filled with fresh energy and healing to carry him through the day. What a gift to someone she loved.

If you begin really paying attention to each activity through your day I am certain you will come upon a number of new ideas to turn ‘little’ things into meaningful adventures in Spirit.

You want to live your life fully following your personal path. Because that is true you may have questions about some of your life challenges. My work is bringing answers from your personal guides, teachers and angels to help you actualize your life in depth.

Do you have one or two books that are your favorites, books that through the years have become like old friends? If you do you will understand how I feel about one particular book in my library.

In years past I have read my special book cover to cover. Now from time to time I pick it up and simply open it to any random page or chapter to see how those words and ideas might apply to my life today.

The book I am referencing is “Living in Balance” by Joel and Michelle Levey. I do not remember how it came into my hands about six or seven years ago. All I know for sure is that I treasure it. It is dog eared and well underlined not by me but by the previous reader. Nearly every page has hand drawn stars and notes in the margin placed there by an unknown reader.

I decided a week or so ago that considering the condition of the book perhaps I should buy a new copy for my book collection and give the old one to someone who might appreciate it as I have. I ordered a fresh copy from Amazon and soon it arrived at my door.

Although the new book was a hardback book rather than paper, in every other way it was identical. It contained the same number of pages, the same words, sentences and chapters, even the publication date was the same 1998. The only apparent difference was that it was free of notes, stars and underlining.

The new book did not attract me. I wasn’t drawn to it. Since other than being in pristine condition this new book was the same collection of words and ideas, why did I refuse to pick it up and read it? It took me awhile to realize the underlying difference.

The former book owner or reader, whoever he or she was, had filled that first copy of mine with loving appreciative energy. It was as if I had not only owned a book full of wisdom but a true treasure filled with a second confirming opinion.

The new book simply had not been imbued with that same intensely warm energy. It felt like a poor copy rather than an original.

Why am I telling you this little story? The reason is that I have observed many times you and I can be motivated by strong energies that we are not consciously aware of. We don’t recognize the source of the energies and mistakenly assume they are ours.

As we move through our days mindfulness or a deeper awareness of the moment can help us to act upon and inculcate only the personally appropriate energies.

My thought is this: All of us can benefit greatly by accessing and amplifying our natural intuitive abilities. If we care enough to work with our own extra sensory perceptions, we will make wiser choices.

If we will take the time to look below the surface of any relationship or occurrence we can become users of more appropriate action as opposed to users of automatic and sometimes erroneous reaction. You know that when we quickly and spontaneously react we are usually allowing someone or some situation to control us.

I believe that most people who seriously approach the amplification of their own intuitive or psychic abilities are looking for a surer pathway to access the wisdom of their own high self, guides and teachers. The pursuit of your own God given perceptions can only lead you to a smoother more accomplished flow of life.

Do not limit yourself by using only the rational approach to daily living. Why should you take such a limited way when all the highest information is available to you? Your guides, your teachers and your angels are continually standing by awaiting your call.

I urge you to contact your guides, masters, teachers and angels. Contact them often with your concerns, your questions, your plans. Above all contact them with gratitude, with genuine thankfulness. That inner energy of gratitude is not for their benefit but for yours.

When you approach anything with an attitude of thankfulness, gratitude for everything in your life, all doors swing wide for you. Your good comes rushing in to meet you.

When you seek the bigger picture, the deeper understanding, your life path will widen and expand. In response to your efforts the Light comes on and brightens both metaphorically and energetically. Your own unique way of spiritual growth and service unfolds.

HOW VALUABLE IS YOUR INTUITION?

Those flashes of insight that we all have, are you using yours? Exactly when and how can extra sensory perception be trusted?

How can you determine the origin of those sudden impulses that urge a change in your plans or direction? What is the source of the information? Can you rely on it?

Do you want more in depth understanding of your world? Would intuitive development be of use to you in your day-to-day living? If the best information was always available to you, would you be willing to use it?

Understandably many of my students push to amplify their native intuitive abilities in order to gain a closer rapport with their guides and teachers. If you can clearly hear the advice offered by your personal masters, high self and angels, life path decisions become not only obvious but increasingly accurate as well.

Following such high level wisdom is sure to put you on an upward soul activating path. That wise direction can assist you to circumnavigate many of the usual earth bound pitfalls.

As your reception of Spirit transmissions increases in clarity you have the opportunity to ask for and receive increasing help for all your activities. Help is close by and continuously available.

When you or I plot a course of action using only our ego or rationale as a guide, there is no guarantee of the desired results. If instead, we seek a higher level of wisdom, the odds of success are greatly magnified. Why not choose to improve the quality of our lives by using all of our inner plane friends and abilities?

When I teach workshops aimed at psychic activation I find that each student has slightly different reasons for pursuing inner development. Nevertheless the vast majority simply want to be able to see below the surface of their experiences and interactions with others. In other words they feel that if they can understand the motivations that are present in their relationships, there is a greater possibility of harmony.

Some of those troublesome relationships that need investigating or smoothing may occur in the work place. It may be the need to feel what is really being conveyed between boss and employee. It may be the desire to understand what would please a buyer/consumer as opposed to what he or she is verbalizing.

When I sold real estate years ago I found that many times that buyers would tell me what they believed they wanted or needed but would buy something completely different. They did not consciously set out to lie, they simply were not fully aware of the kind of property that would truly satisfy some particular inner need or longing. My ability to see below the surface of their needs helped me to make sales I would have lost otherwise.

Often where friction is being encountered in personal relationships the point of disagreement has little to do with the real problem. Dealing with nothing more than the surface conflict, just the obvious appearance, is doomed to failure.

In any argument or difference of opinion, much of the source of discord many times lies well below the surface. Intuitive listening can be the best approach to uncovering the truth and finding the true origins of the discord.

I remind you that there is no reward for going it alone in life. In fact, it seems that just the opposite is true. If through mistaken pride we fail to call for and access the help that is always available to us, we many times miss the mark.

I urge you to contact your guides, masters, teachers and angels. Contact them often with your concerns, your questions, your plans. They are happy to help but they wait for your request.

From time to time I present a fun workshop offering a number of easily learned tools for developing personal psychic abilities. I give so many different methods for pursuing you own intuition that I can safely promise that there is something for each of you to use effectively. The workshop spans three hours and is planned to allow each of the participants their own unique experience of extra sensory perception.

The use of your own intuitive abilities is completely unlimited. That talent can help you find your soul mate as well as lead you to a better way of making money! Intuition can find you the best healing modality for any disease. It can boost your self confidence. It can plan a vacation that does not leave you stranded in a snowed-in airport!

On Saturday, October 3rd I will be offering my “Psychic Play, A Workshop”. I will be teaching from 1 to 4pm that afternoon at Angel Ministries, 2269 South Tamiami Trail, Venice, Florida 34293.

Whether you are an experienced intuitive or just a little curious or even skeptical, I cordially invited you to reserve a spot for this fun learning opportunity. You were born psychic; you just need to find the path.

For reservations for the Psychic Play workshop the first week in October, call me, Reverend Lois Cheney at (941)961-2783 or e-mail: RevLois@gmail.com.

I want to help you find answers to all your questions and challenges. To schedule a counseling session in person at my Sarasota studio or by phone you can reach me by telephone or e-mail.

Please know that all psychic readings and appointments are strictly confidential and are accompanied by a complete cassette recording of your session for your later review.
