Sometimes the events you experience today give you that déjà vu feeling.  You might wonder if the people you meet or feelings they trigger in you are really just an “echo” from one of your own past lives together.  In fact, it seems as if none of us ever totally forget the emotion of events of those yesterdays long since passed.  We carry forward a range of physical, mental or emotional imprints that may appear as blessings or scars from those yesterdays.

As a healing channel when I am doing chakra clearing and alignment therapy with clients I notice that those past life memories are carried in the chakras. It is no surprise that as I am working with someone their past life events and traumas come forward to be recognized, addressed and healed.

As both a psychic medium and clinical hypnotist I have seen many interesting effects on a client’s current life as a result of past life experiences. For instance some of my clients when I take them into past life regression have been able to identify the event of the past which is the source of one of their “mysterious” unidentified physical or emotional pains. Having found when, where and why they experienced the pain in a former life rather than the current one, they are able to simply drop the pain, release it and let it go.

Past life regression also has the ability to point out why you decided to incarnate once again and what lessons you came to learn in this lifetime. It can bring you to that time between lives when you chose the pattern for your next life. A regression many times reveals where you may have stopped short of the goal in a former life and need to carry those lessons forward to this one for completion.

During past life regression when you are in a state of hypnosis or deepened meditation and are able to see a person who is in your life now for the second, third or even fourth time, it can be both illumining and somewhat startling. It does appear to be a recurring theme that some of us meet in one life time after another until we get our issues resolved. In that respect past life regression can help you to understand and smooth current life relationship challenges. At the very least it can explain the underlying reasons for the difficulties you may be experiencing.

As I facilitate your experience of past life regression, as with any hypnotic state, you are always in control! You decide what suggestions you wish to accept. Also it is your decision to see and feel the experience of a particular lifetime, carrying it through to completion or to leave it. What you do accept in the experience you will bring back to full waking consciousness and understanding.

What is the First Rule of Love? It is to listen, to be fully present and to intently listen.  Listening is a skill that very few of us have taken the time to fully practice.

What makes the act of listening a rule of love or perhaps an example of love in action? It is simply this: when we take the time to thoughtfully listen to others, being completely aware of, and in the “now” moment, we are truly accessing our own ability to offer unconditional love and acceptance.

As most of us are aware the unconditional kind of love that Spirit asks of us comes only when we allow and accept others to be just as they are without judging. When we take the time to thoughtfully listen to the ideas, thoughts, desires and fears of others (without formulating our own response before they are finished) we are acknowledging that “you” are as important and valuable as “me”!

Being willing to give attention to others requires effort and more than a little discipline. No matter how spiritual we feel we are, there is that little voice, mostly ego, which says we and our ideas are somehow “right”. However there are rewards in making that extra effort to give an opportunity to others to be heard.

If you have ever worked in a business situation you are aware of the value of knowing the feelings of employees as well as employers. Information and new ideas allow improvement in the workplace. Certainly in everyday life gathering fresh ideas can lead to broader understanding and the possibility of real wisdom.

But there is one aspect of listening that is perhaps the most important of all. That listening can only happen in the depths of the silence of meditation where Spirit, your High Self and Soul dwell.

If you want to truly know and experience the expansion of your personal life path, enter into that sacred silence and listen with your mind and your heart. All the direction and help you will ever need are waiting for you there. Now is the time. It is never too late. YOU CAN LIVE YOUR PURPOSE!

When we are willing to become still and earnestly desire guidance there is yet one more tool that will help. That tool is gratitude. Express your gratitude for all that is in your life whether it is health or sickness, friends or enemies, every experience in the past or present because all of that has made you who you are today. Through it all you have been taught and you have learned!

I firmly believe that gratitude and love are inseparable. In the most deeply felt thankfulness we cannot help but love all of life. Gratitude brings us into the awareness of how holy and magnificent a gift this life is.

The Love and Light you give forth never dies. In fact, nothing positive is ever wasted. When you send loving light and healing from the depths of your soul, it may be rejected by the person or situation where it is sent.  Do not let that discourage you from sending healing and enlightenment to others. The target of your energy projection may refuse to accept. Nevertheless believe me when I say that your loving intent and the energy you provided will be picked up and used by someone. Energy does not die.

It was many years ago that my late husband was called to use his remarkable healing ability with a young father who was dying of cancer. The whole family was present in the home. My husband took the gentleman to another room for privacy. About an hour later my husband and his patient emerged. The young man was free of pain for the first time in many weeks.

As my husband Jim and I prepared to leave, Jim walked up to an older man in the room and touched him on the chest and said “You need to stop smoking.” With that we went home.

Unfortunately the father with cancer was not receptive to any of the suggestions my husband had given him. He refused to make any changes. He would not accept any of the healing energy other than pain relief. Apparently in his depression he had already made the decision to leave the earth plane. In fact, adamantly resisting the love offered from his family and friends, he died only a few days later, well in advance of his doctor’s prediction.

Here though is the remarkably interesting part of the story. It was probably two years afterward that we encountered the older man to whom my husband had spoken and touched.  When he recognized us he said, “You probably don’t remember me but you touched me on the chest one night long ago. You said I needed to quit smoking.  At the time I was going through three packs of cigarettes a day. I stopped that night and have never smoked since. There were absolutely no symptoms of ‘with drawl’. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and my wife thanks you as well.”

It is my belief that the healing energy which the young father rejected was given directly to the older man through the conduit of my husband’s hand. Because the gentleman was receptive he received the healing. Energy lives. It is never wasted.

Let me recount another healing energy event. My husband and I dearly loved my mother. We knew that she was very ill and earnestly hoped she would accept a healing. Because we lived many miles away, we meditated and energized ourselves late one evening preparing to send her distant healing. We worked with sending our healing projections until we felt we had sent enough energy to help her. We decided it was time to sleep.

In what seemed like only an instant after preparing for bed, all of the energy we sent to her rushed right back to us.  It was obvious that Mother had subconsciously decided that her time had arrived and very effectively blocked all our efforts. As a result we were so completely filled with the energy which we had intended for her use that there was no sleeping possible for either of us. We worked with other projects long into the night.

Energy does not die. Energy is never wasted. Even when you see no results, keep using your Love and Light for the best you can envision.  It may be picked up and used by a total stranger but I guarantee you someone somewhere will be thanking you for your gift.

You are powerful. You have the right and the power to be completely in charge of your own life. You have all the options. You and only you have the right to decide what emotions you will feel, what thoughts you will think. YOU ARE THE DETERMINING ENERGY FOR YOUR LIFE.

Let’s talk about habits for a minute. Habits can be very helpful. For instance you don’t bother to think where the light switch is in the bathroom because you have turned it on hundreds of times. You can find a spoon for your coffee almost without looking. Perhaps you wake in the morning without an alarm clock. Well worn habit pathways make life easier but I am sure you know not all habits are beneficial.

Returning to our topic of emotions and thoughts: If I asked how you regulate your emotional barometer, how diligently you are controlling your emotions, you might tell me for instance “My emotions just happen.” “I have no control over my automatic emotions.” “I can’t change them.”

Ah, but perhaps your emotions “just happen” because of the well worn habit pathways you have created. Perhaps they “just happen” because long ago, albeit unconsciously, you decided which way to react to certain similar situations and that reaction pathway became habit.

On the matter of thoughts, I grant you that many times they simply seem to fly unbidden in and out of our heads. Nonetheless, you can decide which ones you will allow to live in your mind, which ones you will house. You have the power to send away those ideas and images that are not for your best good.

Let me say this: you can decide today, this very minute, to keep or abandon any old emotional reaction as well as any old thought. If the patterns you made long ago do not please you today, erase them, discard them. You can decide to begin right now to feel and think in an entirely different way, forge a new path. You are a virtual master of those positive changes if you wish to be.

Yet, many of us continue to give away our power to others. We react to seemingly negative comments or actions of a friend, spouse, or family member. Perhaps we bring our temper to bear either silently or aloud on the actions and words of an unhappy clerk in the store. We keep mentally rehearsing a hurtful incident minutes perhaps hours long past.

How do I know this? I have caught myself more than once mentally piling up what I considered to be wrong actions taken, wrong words spoken, by my daughter. Fortunately when my personal outward emotional explosion happened the other day, the result of an incident which for me was “one last straw,” my daughter was at work and not physically present.

In order to encounter a “last straw” you have to be collecting a lot of straws! I am working on myself to let go of things when they happen or even as they are happening rather than putting them in an emotionally charged shoebox for later use.

When you or I react negatively to another person’s ideas and actions we hurt ourselves! Even worse than just the effect of a heavy emotional reaction on the very cells of our physical body and mind is the fact that through experiencing and giving space in our hearts to that emotion, we GIVE AWAY OUR ENERGY to the offending situation or person. Is that what we really want to do?

Over and over again we amplify the very thing we do not want to see manifest in our lives. How foolish is that? We use our ability to create the exact opposite of our heartfelt desires.

Living your personal truth is challenge enough without giving attention to every other word, thought, advice or direction that is offered to you. It is not bad to be sensitive to what is happening around you. Go ahead, be aware. You can listen. You can listen to everything. Just monitor your reactions carefully. What are you storing in your body and mind?

There are people who will tell you it is “flu season”. “Everybody is getting it.” Decide if you wish to accept that belief. Someone may say to you that because your whole family has a history of this or that malady, you most certainly will succumb. Is that what you want? “They” may tell you that because of current financial situations your new business has to fail. Do you want to quit before you start? Be selective in those ideas that you internalize because positive or negative they will manifest.

It is always good to pick up helpful ideas from others; however, it is most assuredly detrimental to your life progress to accept every seemingly offensive word or action that on the surface appears to be aimed at you. Take only that advice which resonates with your innermost guide. Let the rest go. Let that which is not for your best good float away on the breeze.

No matter how much effort you make, how wonderful your social skills, how loving you are, not everybody is going to like you. Not everybody is going to applaud your way of doing things…not your family, not your friends, not your lover. The most important skill you can learn is to allow criticism to slide right off of you. Knowing who you are, what your goals are, and taking some action every day to achieve those goals, that is what is important.

Recognizing that every individual who is present today has different lessons, different life direction is a big boost to finding your personal tolerance, your ability to honestly smile and allow. As long as you are not receiving any physical harm simply allow others to think and do as they would. It certainly is not up to you or me to decide what is right or wrong for another’s life.

This attitude of allowing and accepting would seem to be the most difficult for us in the case of friends and family. For whatever reason we all seem to be particularly talented in recognizing the faults of others. My advice? Send the Light and Love to all, see the Light and Love, be the Light and Love. It is always appropriate. In many cases it is the best you can do. Whether it is accepted or not, it is always absolutely correct.

Know that other folk’s “mistakes” maybe exactly what they need to learn and grow. Don’t take away their lessons. It is not for their best good. Offer advice only when seriously asked. Many times that apparent call for help is not for you to fix anything but rather is really only a call for you to be a good listener.

You and I have chosen to live in this world of opposites. Yes, it was our decision. I believe our most valuable learning comes from observing the interplay of the positive and negative. If we will rise to our personal challenges, if we dare to be that which our innermost self would have us be, we will have lived the best of lives. Live from your heart and soul. Spirit’s wisdom will knock on your door every day sometimes in pleasing attire and sometimes in rags.

I believe in differences. I believe in your personal uniqueness. I encourage you to explore all your gifts, all your talents. Throw away any inhibitions or fears that you have collected along the way. I know each one of you is unique in all this earth. You are special, valuable and important. Claim your personal power. This is your chance for the best life ever. Use it to the fullest. TAKE CHARGE OF YOU!

We all make plans from time to time. Sometimes we get so intense that you might say we not only plan but we plot! But you and I know the Universe occasionally steps in and initiates something quite different, a left turn as it were.

My story begins about two months ago. I was planning and looking forward to a second visit to a large city on the east coast of Florida. The first time I served one of the metaphysical centers there, the minister had provided lodging in her own home. This time, while serving that same center, I was invited to stay with a new acquaintance in a separate suite of her condominium.

As usual with these trips I was completely prepared with two workshops, a lecture and a meditation. In addition I was offering private psychic counseling. On the surface it was much the same as any of my working trips.

About three weeks before I was scheduled, things starting going a bit odd. First the center’s website balked and refused to allow access. That was a bit scary to me because my income depended on those people on the center’s e-mail list knowing I was on my way, understanding what I would teach and the times of the lectures.

When the website finally opened up, the dates and times were wrong. One of my workshops was totally deleted. I was concerned but on the other hand my last visit had been so perfect, I assumed everything would straighten out in time! Plus I had learned one special attitude from a friend of mine. It always fixed any negative attitude I might be prone to use. On occasions like this I just said: “Oh, well!”

Then another glitch! The advertisement that was to appear in the local new age magazine had the wrong date and didn’t mention my other workshop. Oh, oh! This called for phrases one and two: “Oh, well… So what!”

Upon arrival at the metaphysical center it was obvious that nothing was going to happen according to plan. Now it was time for: “Oh, well…So what…Next time!” Oddly enough I felt really upbeat, not at all concerned. As it turns out there was an excellent reason for my optimism.

I was only in the city a day or so when, thanks to my new friend, I was called on to spiritually clear and clean a gorgeous bay side home of over 20,000 square feet. It was the first time I had worked with a living space of that size and I welcomed the opportunity. My new friend came with me and helped carry all my psychic “tools”.

I divided the huge house into sections for the clearing and subsequent replacing with the appropriate energy. There were three different levels to the home and so many hallways. To be certain that it was as clean as it should be, I allowed myself two days for the intense work.

The remainder of the week I was busy doing counseling sessions and chakra clearings for several friends of the home’s owners. Believe me when I say I never gave a second thought to the week that didn’t turn out “right”.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Universe, Cosmos, Spirit, One Source, I Am that I Am.

Whatever your need is today: counseling on life path matters, clearing of old patterns or contacting loved ones on the other side, call or e-mail. I am here to help in my Sarasota,Florida studio or by telephone.

It was just two weeks ago this coming Sunday through an unexpected invitation I found myself teaching one of my favorite workshops on the east coast of Florida. That workshop that I offer from time to time is my introduction to extra sensory development, just a taste of the way or path to psychic development.

As usual I brought boxes of “tools” with me that I use to keep the focus of attendees. I set up my easel and flip chart. All was going according to plan as we worked our way through the exercises both mental and physical. I spoke of my own early and sometimes laughable experiences with spirits and apparitions.

Then something unusual happened. I flipped to the next illustration on the chart. It was a simple outline of a heart. In the center of the heart in rose colored crayon was the word JOY. One woman jumped up from her chair and said “I like that!

I do love effusive people. Her energy was a real boost to most everyone. Hers was certainly a positive exclamation but not the end of the reactions to the drawing of the heart and “Joy” from the rest of the class.

No one else commented aloud regarding the particular drawing but it was the varied energies the others were emitting that surprised me. There were a few nods of agreement and then…

With some of the students there seemed to be a distrust of the word itself as if it contained some sort of threat perhaps could not be accepted or counted on to be positive. One of the participants actually recoiled as if in fear. Is it possible that someone could be afraid of going beyond being surface happy, of accessing joy in depth? If that were so what could be the reason?

To figure out this puzzle I began considering where joy comes from, where it originates. Certainly joy is more than mere pleasure. It has a depth beyond pleasure. The deep upwelling emotion of joy resonates throughout the body and mind. I dare          say true joy is a soul promoted emotion.

Perhaps it comes and goes quickly or only occasionally as we move through our lives. But to truly live joy each day every day one would have to have a deep sense of gratitude not only for his own life but for every person and situation in his life.

How could that thankfulness or gratitude be brought forward? Can we create it at will?

It is certain that life is full of changes and surprises, some pleasant, some not so pleasant. Could it be that you and I are capable of making a conscious decision to be thankful for all our varied situations, people and events? Could we suspend ego-led judgment long enough to be thankful for all our experiences whether filled with tears or laughter? And if we stuck by that mental decision to be grateful in all things could we perhaps invite more joy into our hearts and lives?

At that point in my analyzing I began to realize that Joy and Unconditional Love were inseparable. They are two halves of one thing. If Joy were accessed one would have to be at least at that moment in a state of loving and accepting everything and everyone just as they are. That state of being in unconditional love and acceptance might be all too brief but it would seem that it naturally coexists at the moment when Joy is flooding the heart.

To go a step further is it possible then that the only healing tool we would ever need is found in being unconditionally loving and accepting of ourselves and others? Could love filled joy be the one medicine that would take away any of our distress or disease?

That idea brought me right back to the person in my class that appeared to be literally afraid of Joy. Now I know from experience that some people will cling to their illnesses because that particular disease or condition is providing some sort of benefit in their lives.

The discomfort may be giving them the attention they crave from another person. Holding on to that distress may be their reason for not attempting some task that they do not want to pursue. Whatever the reason for not accepting their own healing, they continuing to hold on to that ailment because it provides what they, on some level of consciousness, believe is necessary in their lives.

Following that reasoning, if Joy were to be a part of their daily living, the disease that has been their rock, their saving grace, their focal point might be taken away. Loosing that kind of stability, however questionable the logic, would certainly be reason enough to fear the dynamic healing arrival of Joy coupled with the unconditional love of self and others.

There is of course another possibility. Perhaps the real fear is that the beautiful flooding of Joy into and from the heart is all too temporary. Perhaps the fear is that when that Joy is not present or seems inaccessible the emotions and stability will go into free fall.

From time to time we all suffer through the ups and downs of emotion but we do not live in fear of a total downward spiral just because life does not conform to our idea of perfect. Most of us have learned the real benefits of keep our “sunny side up”. Good thoughts, good emotions, bring good results.

My response to the thought that Joy is too temporary is to suggest that each of us begin at once to carve a reliable path to Joy. I suggest we find a way to access or create Joy in our lives. For instance, we all need the feeling and knowledge that our lives are supported by Spirit. Because that is true let us begin to reassure ourselves daily that we are made of the divine Light and Love of Spirit. Reinforce our own worthiness throughout the day.

Cause yourself to become aware, to feel that Light and Love lifting you, guiding you from one moment to the next. Remind yourself daily that you are Light, you are Love. Do this and thankfulness, love and all pervasive Joy will become your way of life.

The original question I asked myself was “Is Joy your birthright?” I can now say I believe that it is but like any gift or talent or ability Joy has to be accepted, appreciated and above all used. Joy is that state of expanding love and acceptance. Accessing the Joy that is naturally yours will change your life and the lives of all those whom you touch.

My personal joy is found in helping others to fully actuate their lives. My pleasure comes from seeing my clients successfully pursue the life path of their design. If I can help you with any life questions or directions call or e-mail me, Reverend Lois Cheney for your private clairvoyant reading.

I now offer individually designed and personalized one-on-one intuitive development lessons. All work is completely confidential and you will have a cassette recording of your counseling session for your later review.

You want to manifest your highest desires. Spirit is longing to express itself through you. You invite your heart and soul wisdom for input. You earnestly try to send the right kind and amount of energy. You expect results. All of that is a good thing.

The one difficulty with expectations is that you sometimes become very fixed in what you insist upon for an outcome. In being so exacting in the form of your intentions and their timing, you can block a much better, more satisfying result.

Spirit knows the most beneficial form of your creation and the optimum timing of its arrival. When you do not allow flexibility in either form or timing you may lose the best result.

Nothing that any of us plan to do, no action that we take, can be accomplished in a vacuum. In other words every action we initiate has a ripple effect. Each result we create with our intentions and our energy touches others in some way.

If you can be more open to variations in your desired creation, you will allow the highest and best not only for yourself but for those people who will be blessed by your manifestation as well.

As separate as each of us may feel from time to time, the truth is we are not alone. We are irrevocably joined with the earth and all life. This joining is the reason we need to ask always for “this or something better to bless all those concerned.” Or as the Buddhists might say “intend no harm”.

You have incarnated here on earth at a highly energized time. It is a time of great volatility but also great progress. Your life path is vitally important as you work with all other light workers to energize this period of ascension. You like all of us deeply desire to fulfill your personal purpose as well as your cosmic one.

If I can help you in any way to access your life goals through the channeling of your personal guides and teachers, call for your private appointment. All reading sessions are completely confidential and will be recorded for you. I will meet with you either in my Florida studio or by telephone.

The same old Spirit? Yes and no. The same Spirit but seemingly completely new when viewed through the eyes of over 100 windows of sparkling Light.

Those windows of Light I am referencing were the fantastic souls in attendance at the 24th Dowsing and Healing Conference held for five days at the end of April in Fayetteville Arkansas. It has taken me two weeks to really digest all of the inspiration I received there.

It never fails to amaze me that after 30 some years of teaching, lecturing and counseling I always find a new thought and a new way. Even one of my “usual workshops” takes on a new energy and direction as I lecture to different groups.

What surprised me the most at the convention was to find an extraordinary number of my personal soul group among the attendees. It makes me wonder: How far ahead of time did we collaborate in the silence to make this meeting happen?

I am extraordinarily grateful to the Ozark Research Institute founders, Gladys and Harold McCoy, and their many helpers for the year long effort it requires to sponsor the convention.

On the surface each presenter at the convention came from a completely different point of view. The truth is they were all simply pointing their own unique way of accessing the Light of Spirit and soul path for which we continually yearn.

Individual channeling of Spirit energy was the thrust of every presentation. Regardless of whether the class concerned the “72 Names of God”, “Spoon Bending”, “Treasure Mapping”, “Dreams”, “Energetic Healing” or “Life Path”, the focus remained on accessing and using Spirit-Soul guidance and energy.

I am grateful for every client who sought my private counseling while I was in Fayetteville. I feel blessed to be allowed to help each of them. Every reading I offer amplifies my own abilities to uplift and enlighten others.

It is always amazing to me how many roads there are to the same destination— creation of the soul’s learning and progress! I think at this particular time in earth’s evolution we are all feeling a greater pressure to actuate our lives to the fullest. Our overriding desire is to fully encompass our Spirit in this human body. We want to know with certainty that we are doing the work we came here to do.

Every “clue” that we can gather to point us in the direction of our greatest life fulfillment is valuable. We are each endowed with an abundance of personal talent and creativity. It is up to each of us to bring our uniqueness forward in a way that will bless not only ourselves and the people we touch but our living earth as well.

Where does your personal road lead? Are you here to work with the plant or animal kingdom? Did you come to teach other Light Bearers through your personal gifts and understanding? Is offering peace and non-judgment your path? What is your unique way to bring the Light of Spirit, the I Am Presence to the earth and her people at this time?

I am here in my Florida studio to help you with any of your life challenges. I offer you a confidential reading appointment in my Florida counseling room or by telephone. In either case, I will give you a tape recording of your session for your later review in the privacy of your home.

It is my joy to help by channeling the guidance of your personal guides and masters. The messages of recurring dreams can be deciphered for you. In addition, I am able to bring you information from your loved ones in spirit if you desire.

Words are wonderful tools. Words create pictures and feelings for us whether they are written or spoken. But there is a significant problem with offering words: each of us understands their meanings in a slightly different way.

Don’t get me wrong I love words, language. I am particularly enamored with any sort of dictionary or encyclopedia. However, just lately I have begun to realize how vastly different individual interpretation and understanding of words can be.

In my recent workshop for the Ozark Research Institute, I handed out envelopes to each of the 30 plus participants. These particular envelopes contained no words at all just similar photographs. The pictures of various flowers which I placed in the envelopes were truly beautiful ones taken by my daughter.

The students were advised just to hold the envelopes for a period of time without opening them. Later each told the class what vibrations they had felt or sensed from the envelopes. Even though the contents of those envelopes were similar, each one of the students felt something different. No one was wrong even though no one expressed the word “flower”.

It was obvious even with a highly detailed photograph and no written words as a distraction, individual impressions are different. Each member of the class came from a somewhat different background, had encountered different experiences and consequently each was impressed with a completely different aspect of their personal envelope.

Some felt earth or dirt. One who had the photo of the parrot tulips quite accurately saw a deep purple color. Another simply felt water. One detected pulsing life. And one of the students who had the picture of white lilies saw the color red which I believe was simply the life energy of the flowers.

But I can honestly say no one was wrong. They simply understood things in a different way, were attracted to realities of the photos from their own unique perspective.

In my work as a counselor a great percentage of the problems that clients bring to me are those which exist in their relationships. These difficulties are apparently very similar in nature whether the relationships with which they are involved are intimate, spousal, family, friendship or workforce related. These problems all have a major component of either misunderstanding or total lack of accurate communication.

If our goal is to communicate with each other from the wisdom of our indwelling Spirit, then that communication has to carry more depth than mere words. We need to begin speaking or writing from our intuitive vibration. We need to choose our words as well as our accompanying emotional wave length with great care.

The most ignored principle of good communication is the first one. If we want to be heard we must first listen to the other person and we must listen with love. When we can hear with our hearts, there is a much better opportunity to gain understanding and make an appropriate reply.

Unfortunately, many times we are so busy framing a response to someone’s ideas that we really are not hearing them at all. We have heard this or that similar situation before and think we have the right answer. Often we do not if simply because their situation is not exactly the same as any other problem or challenge.

If you can bring the energy of love’s wisdom, the deep understanding that exists in your heart and soul to all your interactions with others, you will begin to evolve any relationship.

Whether you are speaking to loved ones, friends or strangers, learning to use your highest spirit-inspired words will enable you to move forward with grace. You will lift and inspire all those around you.

My Buddhist friend tells me that it is an affront to Spirit to ever take offense at another’s words or actions. Why? Because if we are offended, we have judged. We believe that the words were an attack against our ego, our self image. We have taken the position that we are entitled to say that the person was “wrong”. We have decided that we have the right to be “hurt”.

We have all heard: “don’t take anything personally” “It’s not about you, it’s them.” Sometimes that is not so easy. If we practice taking the high road in our associations with others, allowing others to be who they are, as they are, life becomes much more pleasant. We can begin to learn instead of suffering.

I am not suggesting that we toss out our ability to intelligently discriminate in our relationships. We need to know when we are moving down a path that will not be for our best good.

If we have exhausted all our best ideas of verbal interaction with anyone and find ourselves at an impasse, it may be necessary to love someone from a distance. It may be necessary to move that person off the center stage of our life up to the balcony or even out to the curb.

We cannot force all relationships to work the way we wish. The most we can do is to give more inner attention to the way we speak and write. If we will do that we will encounter less resistance to our communication with others.

The workshop I offered at the recent conference in Arkansas brought me great joy as I witnessed the enthusiasm of the students. I had opportunities to counsel with many of those who attended. If I can be of help to you with any of your questions or life challenges, simply call or e-mail for your personal appointment. I can meet you in my Florida studio or work with you over the telephone. In either case I will give you a complete recording of your private session.
