As we prepare to birth the new year, our thoughts may be on the year now past. Perhaps we feel many things could have been better. We see loss in various human arenas…finance, institutions, relationships, and more. We may have regrets over some of our personal actions or inactions, those things we did or failed to do.  We may feel abused, even victimized, by the actions of others.

We need to ask ourselves if we want a rehash of 2009 or if we are willing to make the effort to create situations and events in and around us that are truly new. If we want our new year to be different than this past year, we must begin to think, act and feel differently about ourselves and our experiences.

At this special time of new beginnings I offer some ideas to bring you confidence that the new year will be completely and pleasingly new! First, forget the so called “failures” of the twelve months past. Those losses along with the days that produced them are over. Whip out a sheet of paper and begin to write everything you ever did that was a “win”.

Call your list RIGHT ACTIONS. Documenting your “wins” as a list will be the first step toward your intended new journey. It will imbue you with the knowledge and deep seated belief that you are a successful Spirit filled human.

On your “Right Actions” list write every successful, generous, loving thing you have ever done. For instance, “providing extra food for others to brighten their holidays made me feel good,” Or “I decided to finish the college course which led to my being accepted as a …” Or perhaps, “buying that first little house set me on a good road to identifying winning investments.” Or, “I made a special effort to make my mother comfortable in our final weeks together.”

Whatever you did at any time that brought you a good feeling about yourself, your motives and your abilities write it on your list! The act of writing anything gives it special enlivening energy.

The reason for this exercise is not to encourage living in the past but rather to take you back there long enough to remember those special positive power filled times of yesterday. By reacquainting yourself with your successes of the past you are simply reminding yourself that the power you used then is the power you can elect to use now and in the future.

What name do you give your power? What channel are you tuned to? Do you think of it as the energy of intuition, Spirit, God, I Am that I Am, high self, Light or Love? Whatever name you give to it that power is yours to use in any way you can think, dream or imagine.

By making the “Right Actions” list you will begin to remember many successful ventures for which you may not have given yourself credit. The point of creating the list is for you to visualize and magnify a winning, successful image of you. When you see yourself as a creative winner you will engage more wonderful productive ideas. You will have more success with anything you do.

Did you know that your powerful subconscious will always carry out your orders? Every repetitious thought and emotion you feed to it will be saved, worked with and brought to manifestation. It is a 24-hour-a-day worker. It never becomes tired and it never grows old.

Even more than manifesting your power filled ideas, your subconscious keeps a bank of information that you did not impower. Ask it for some solutions and ideas and it will do the research. Or ask its associate your personal dream maker for answers. You have truly unlimited resources waiting your call.

When you access your own “feel good” emotion you have accessed your personally powerful fuel and igniter fluid for constructive manifestation. You can focus that energy to build the life you have dreamed of. You have always known what you desire and now you have the way to ignite those desires.

By your concentration on your personal successes you are throwing out all your preconceived limits. When you throw out limiting ideas and concepts you are free to engage fully with your personal light filled future.

It is no secret that most of us can tell you what didn’t work in our lives or what isn’t working. Why fritter away our dynamic energy resources on such a wasteful pastime? Let us speak instead of how much we love today and invest our energy here. Let us speak of the bright future that stretches out in front of us. Make our words work for us rather than against us.

Creating a new “new year” for ourselves does not happen by chance. It takes a desire on the part of each one of us to let go of the actions and ideas that did not work and focus on the ones that did!

A particularly good idea at this time of year is to clean house in any way you can. In other words, if you have not used a particular item in the last 12 months, get rid of it. Give it away to someone who could use it. Recycle it! If you are falling over unused possessions and storing some under your bed it is time to make some decisions about where you are using your energy.

The other part of house cleaning is a little different. When a particular personal habit is a stumbling block, it not only has to be removed but it has to be replaced! It is good to remember that anytime you create a vacuum by removing an idea or emotion, you need to replace it with something more positive. Otherwise that hole that is left in your life experience will be filled with the “first available”, in other words, the luck of the draw.

Keep adding to your success list whenever you remember one of your personal winning actions.  Adding to your list will build your confidence. It will impress upon you that you are worthwhile and capable of great deeds. Each one of you has special talents and enormous creativity. Believing in yourself will reveal more of your abilities.

Through this list making exercise you will find other new and sometimes startling inventive ideas floating to the surface. Do not ignore your new ideas. Keep a second list of POSSIBILITIES.

Allow the ideas to approach you as they are without placing immediate judgment on them. In other words, just because a particular idea seems beyond your abilities at the moment, too much like “pie in the sky” write it down anyway. Remember that tomorrow everything can change. What seems impossible today may be exactly the action that will work for you next week.

Do not throw away any of your inspired thoughts. WHEN IN DOUBT…WRITE IT DOWN!

Be aware that some of your best most workable ideas may come to you in dreamtime. Write them down the very minute you wake. Even if you cannot understand the metaphor or unusual language of a dream, write it down. Do not let any of these special inspirations escape into forgetfulness.

Pay attention to your colorful daydreams as well. Daydreams can carry wonderful inspirations that are worthy of your notice. Daydreaming is a way of trying out ideas and seeing the probable results. Let no idea wither for lack of your investigation.

The importance of written lists is that we are able to see things in a more concrete form. When ideas are standing side by side on paper we can evaluate much more directly. Clarity of thought is more likely.

Make this new year of yours shine with the ultimate in newness. Make it your best new year yet.

Yes, every ‘little’ activity you engage in, every ‘little’ thing you do you have the power to expand with energy and intent to serve ‘double duty’.

Suppose it is time for exercise. For your body’s sake you go outdoors for a walk or jog. Instead of plugging your ears with your earphones to listen to your personal music mix, try hearing all the various sounds and seeing all the diverse sights of nature.

Immerse yourself in the life essence of birds, trees and flowers. Hear the crickets; see the dew on the leaves. Do you sense a misty aura of life around all things? Bring yourself to focus on the now moment. Mother Earth gladly sends you healing of mind, body and spirit if you care to absorb it.

Being at peace in nature can allow you to access your highest creativity. New ideas and better ways of living begin to flow in with ease. Inspiration is everywhere. As action is called for it takes on a new grace and purpose.

Do you prepare meals for yourself or friends? In the midst of all that chopping, cooking and arranging where are your thoughts? Are you adding special life enhancing energies to the food and the kitchen? If not, why not?

You have access to all the energy you could ever need. Use that ability of yours to channel energy into the most positive vibrations for yourself and others. The rewards may very well surprise you.

A simple thing like taking a morning or evening shower or tub bath can be much more than physical cleaning. Bless the water. Put your mind on the power of the water. See it refreshing your total energy.

Think of the water as removing all miss-qualified energies of your own or those unwanted attachments that you might have accumulated. Know that as that water leaves you, winding its way down the drain and making its way back to the earth, it will be recycled and refreshed.

I recall a dear friend of mine, a Unity Minister in Illinois, used this principle of ‘double duty’ very well! It was back in the days when as housewives we actually ironed husbands’ shirts. I think now everything is wash and wear.

Anyhow, when my friend Dona would iron her husband’s shirts (a job she really did not like) she would see his back, shoulders and arms filled with fresh energy and healing to carry him through the day. What a gift to someone she loved.

If you begin really paying attention to each activity through your day I am certain you will come upon a number of new ideas to turn ‘little’ things into meaningful adventures in Spirit.

You want to live your life fully following your personal path. Because that is true you may have questions about some of your life challenges. My work is bringing answers from your personal guides, teachers and angels to help you actualize your life in depth.

Call today for your personal and confidential psychic reading appointment. I will help you in my Florida studio or by telephone. Do inquire about my 4-part private intuitive lessons. I am Reverend Lois Cheney, RevLois@gmail.com or (941)961-2783

Nothing in life is as little or insignificant as it may sometimes seem. Every little thing has more to it. Every “thing” is alive with energy and has depth far beyond its surface. If you wish to amplify your intuition for any purpose, if you wish to cull any wisdom from surface knowledge, then you must decide to never discard any visual or auditory or sense perception of any kind. In other words pay attention to all your sensory input.

Extra sensory perception has such a wide range of benefits. It can be used to determine appropriate answers to your personal health questions. It has great value in understanding relationships. Intuition can keep you from taking actions with upsetting consequences and guide you instead to better choices.

Training your intuition is not as difficult as it might appear. This effort at extra sensory perception begins by being fully present in the exact moment you find yourself. Step out of any mental day dream and be here now.

What does this entail? Why don’t we try something? Using this approach, while you read these words, the pink rose you are receiving from me just now as a mental projection is not just colored pink.
Use your imagination. Look closely. The rose is a mottling of many colors. Is there a touch of white? Perhaps just a whisper of a deeper red hue at its center is showing itself.

Immerse yourself in the life and quality of the rose. Hold the rose in your hand. Yes it is soft but feel the texture of each petal. Can you feel its frequency, its vibration touching your palm, your fingers?

Your special rose does not just smell sweet. It combines a range of fragrances. Fragrance is a vibration. Is it possible that you could hear this fragrance in addition to smelling it? In this moment the rose is performing its special life dance just for you. Appreciate its special contribution to this moment in time.

Each one of us possess special sensing capabilities. Each excel more in one method of discovery than another. As you work with your own abilities you might discover that hearing is your most accurate and acute sense. Others might find that their inner “knowing” is always available and gives reliable information. And still others will gain much through their hands and sense of touch.

Whatever way gives you the best result, use it. At the same time, try working with other aspects of your intuition. You may find it quite easy to incorporate several of your sensing talents for even better results.

Keep a written record of your own experiments with perception to encourage yourself as you move forward. You will gain confidence and precision with just a little practice. Don’t forget to give yourself a big pat on the back when you get it right!

This Saturday, October 3rd, I will be offering “Psychic Play” a workshop. It is an interactive experience with a lot of smiles, giggles and laughs. I offer you an assortment of easy to use tools for intuitive development. I know that whether you have a lot of experience with the paranormal or none you will benefit!

The workshop will be held at the Church of the Angels, 2269 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL from 1 to 4pm this Saturday, October 3rd. You are invited to participate. The cost is only $35.

I am Reverend Lois Cheney, clairvoyant and trance medium. I invite you to bring any question and as many questions as you wish. All readings are cassette recorded for your later review. Each appointment is strictly private and confidential. I will read for you in my Sarasota Florida studio or by telephone. Call today: (941)961-2783 E-Mail: RevLois@gmail.com.

Using the past as a benchmark for your creation of today’s situations and the future is using a flawed yardstick! If your memories of your yesterdays are glowing and positive that is fine but all too often negative memories of the past can cause somewhat irrational reactions in the now.

If your memories of past situations are causing you to react in ways that are uncomfortable or even harmful to you, to those around you and to your current life experiences, it is time to take action.

I am not suggesting that you forget the past or bury it. What I am offering you may seem a bit unusual at first glance but it does work. I am suggesting that you make some subtle but important changes in the way you remember certain troubling aspects from the past.

It is not at all unusual for us to take a past trauma and rehearse it over and over again. We make the memory strong, harsher and more energized until it is vastly different than the original happening. Hashing and rehashing an unhappy past will not create anything positive.

The method I am going to detail for you will not affect anyone in those memories but it can be a world of help to you. For instance, if you have endured emotional or physical abuse in any relationship begin right now to see yourself responding in a different way.

If someone has lowered or crushed your self esteem with heavy words, see yourself saying something mild and just walking away head held high. “I understand your feelings. I am sorry you feel that way.” Then in your imagination you leave the room and let the words roll off. This takes some memory practice but you can do it. Every time the memory comes to your mind practice it in its new form.

If the suffered abuse was a physical one, construct with your imagination a scenario where a concerned and loving person arrives to intercede on your behalf, someone who takes you out of harm’s way. This memory adjustment will not take hold immediately but eventually with your repetition it will replace the original version. Your harsh emotions will soften and subside. The change will free you to trust life more fully.

The tremendous benefit of restructuring memories of the hurtful past is that you can stop the patterns! You do not need to project that “hurt me” energy over and over again. You can stop manifesting similar situations today and tomorrow.

Once you have pulled the plug on the negative aspects of memories you are back in control. You can create the kind of future you truly want. Remember that the past only exists for you as a series of memories. Because this is so, it only makes sense to put as much peace and joyous living into those memories as your imagination will allow.

On a slightly different aspect of the same principle, anytime today you encounter a happening that is not to your liking, a seeming negative, you have a wonderful choice. Why do you have a choice? Because you are the one in charge of labeling and categorizing any situation you find confronting you.

I remember my first time of taking shorthand notes some years ago. I was working for the director of an Illinois research facility. It was a meeting of the 12 department heads and I was writing as fast as I could to keep up with all the input.

After the meeting, when I was busy typing my notes, the director called me to his office. He said, “Now we will decide what happened at the meeting.” In other words he was using the opportunity to label and categorize the results according to his point of view.

Decide to put some sincere thought into how you label things. In other words if nothing comes together the way you had planned, decide to think that this is an opportunity to find a better plan. Label it, “Opportunity Calling” or just tell yourself that this presents an excellent chance to practice that patience skill you have been wanting.

There is no occurrence that can resist your positive identifying spin no matter how dark it may seem on first look. Deciding that every negative is hiding a good opportunity is the best thing you can do for yourself. It opens your mind to unconsidered or previously ignored chances to learn and grow.

Every one of us have had tragedy touch our lives at some time Let me describe to you how I dealt with one of my own most difficult times.

It was ten years ago this past January. My husband Jim and I had been married for 19 years. We taught classes together. He had his own hypnosis clients. My Jim was recovering nicely from an extensive heart surgery two or three months previously. By all appearances he was as well as I had ever seen him. Then with no warning one sunny Arkansas day he shot and killed himself.

I was presented with a huge choice. Of course I mourned. The choice was whether I should also blame myself. Should I feel guilty that somehow I should have seen his mental/emotional state? Should I have known he needed help? Should I have anticipated the tragedy? Was I obliged to shoulder a heavy load of guilt?

This was my decision and no one else could make it for me. I deliberately elected to tell myself that he had my best interests at heart. I felt that because of his age he was most likely concerned that his health would continue to decline and that decline would make him a burden to me. He loved me enough to not allow that to happen.

Was my view of the situation and its cause pure rationalization on my part? Perhaps, but that attitude allowed me to move forward in a life affirming way. That concept freed me from what could have been years of self recrimination and stagnation.

Whatever “the truth” may have been at the time, I believe that he made a loving sacrifice which has allowed me to give myself fully to the work I am meant to do.

I have no doubt that many of you have moved through equally difficult situations. From my clients, I hear all sorts of problems and traumas that they encountered as children and later as adults in relationships.

The truth is that as long as we continue to rehearse the fears, doubts and worries from the past, we will continue to meet similar troubling situations in the present and the future.

A little time invested in giving those troublesome memories a more positive spin is worth the effort involved. There is no reason to let a heavily charged negative memory ruin your life today.

You want to act within each new situation in a positively appropriate new way. What you do not need or want is to react from the past, from a negative memory trigger which spoils the now moment.

The highest good you can extract from the past is the wisdom you have gained—the knowledge and understanding that has brought you to this moment.

Why improve your hurtful memories? Because general we do exactly the opposite. We amplify the hurts beyond all reason and certainly beyond the truth of the past. This amplification through the continual focus of our energy brings most unwelcome results.

You deserve the very best, happiest, most productive life. You can have exactly that. You are strong, powerful, capable and talented. I believe in your right and ability to choose.

Daydreams, we all have them. Throughout our waking day our minds wander the landscape of possibilities. We daydream about glorious escapes to faraway places. We imagine frightening outcomes to real-world situations currently affecting our lives. We think about winning the lottery and see all the following excitement with the media.

It is true that our minds rarely give us a rest. It does not seem to matter what we are doing, if that activity fails to require our full attention, we are daydreaming. In the middle of driving the car or riding the bicycle, we still daydream. I suspect this “automatic piloting” has caused more than one accident.

I believe that learning to control our daydreams can be of great benefit. Corrected daydreaming can do much more than prevent accidents! Why is this so?

Think of this: YOUR DAYDREAM CARRIES POTENT CREATIVE ENERGY! As you repeat a particular daydream over and over again, you are sending that energy directly to your subconscious which always obeys.

Your subconscious does not question whether your daydream is good or bad. It simply sets about to bring your feelings and your ideas to life! Considering the content of your personal daydreams, you can readily believe that this manifested scenario is sometimes a very good thing and sometimes the worst of things.

If you will take responsibility for the content of your daydreams, you will put yourself in charge of more positive outcomes. You no longer will allow yourself the luxury of imagining the worst, those wakeful “nightmares,” but instead will begin envisioning only the happiest and most fruitful pictures. You will begin to see outcomes that are of real benefit to yourself and any others who may be involved.

After all, you are creating your life one minute at a time! Just as your repeated spoken or written words will create after their kind, so your repeated daydreams will bring the effects of mind and imagination to you and your experience. Remember: when any particular daydream carries strong emotion, it becomes even more likely to manifest and appear in your life.

Each time you become aware that you are in the midst of a daydream, ask yourself if this particular experience is what you truly desire. If it is what you can enjoy and appreciate, by all means add more energy to it. If it would only bring pain and unhappiness to you, make a change immediately!

YOU ARE IN CONTROL! You are in charge of your every thought and feeling if you will decide to take the reins! Seeing only happy outcomes may seem like fabrication or lies at first but it is the very best kind of programming. It is up to you to become a joyous programmer of your own life and experience.
